I am going to Sweden tomorrow for the European Masters. The club will be open Wednesday and Friday (closed Thursday). As I am away the card reader won’t work so cash only.

Happy new year to all members and your families. The club is closed for New Year reopening 6pm Friday. As I said thanks to the regular members for sticking with me throughout the floods and leaks and electricity failures this year! I’m “trying” to plan a bit of a “reset” heading into the new year with hopefully a couple of improvements - but obviously I have to go slowly.

Just a “gentle” reminder that yearly membership is due from 7th January and despite what I’ve been advised it is remaining at €20 for the year. In addition if an existing member refers a NEW member then the old member gets half their membership back, this is to try to regain some ground from this year and this idea worked after the pandemic so let’s see????!!! 🤞

Merry Christmas to all members and your family. Particular thanks this year to all the regulars that have stuck with me through this year… it’s definitely been the most challenging year for the club with all the building problems this year. Please see Club Christmas opening hours.

Hi everyone

There’s a lot of trees and more worryingly wires down on Courtown road so I think it’s a bit risky to open tonight - not sure what Arklow is like? I was waiting to make a decision but this was just put up so club closed tonight Tuesday 9th December.

Now this is something I wasn’t expecting!! A new member playing Russian Pyramid (I think Russian Billiards is another name) I’ve only ever seen the game once at the Worlds in Poland a few years ago… I don’t think there’s any tables in Ireland - there certainly are none in Arklow so a Snooker table had to do! The balls are MASSIVE- they make American Pool Balls look tiny.

Gonna try a member’s Snooker Tournament next Thursday 18th September 7pm.

First 8 players to register
Best of 3 frames or 1 frame flyer - whatever players want? (loser pays bill (but if you agree to split bill BEFORE match that’s ok).

€10 Entry
Maximum bill for match is €15 TBC depending on format.
Winner takes all (or finalists can agree split).
