Our first Breathe Well post pregnancy session in Wexford town is complete. What a lovely bunch of mums and babies. Looking forward to bringing you all though the next stage getting you moving well and together with baby alongside as always 🤱or remember you can always come alone too ✅

New course starting next month.
A four week meet up for new mums in the middle of Wexford town. Why not meet with other new mums in the area and discover the importance of breathing in the post partum body. A space for you to slow down, experience & learn how to breathe well and re-establish connection to build the solid foundation needed to move well post pregnancy. Finish off with a nice cuppa ☕ and a chat.
Bring baby 👶as always but not a requirement, so if you get some you time come alone and enjoy!

Breathing is what makes our bodies function day to day. It has been with us from the very beginning,through everything that we ever experience, good and bad and is there with us for our whole lifetime.
So why is it especially important in the postpartum body?
Well, not only does it help to induce a sense of calm through the parasympathetic nervous system and therefore changing our stress responses (hormones), which face it as a new mum can be running at an all time high after giving birth and now full time carer with sleepless nights and on call 24/7, it also promotes healing and tissue repair
With each breath, our diaphragm & pelvic floor move together in synchronicity helping to promote natural core and pelvic floor recovery.
Breathing helps to regulate pressure in the body. Correcting how we breathe, can help to prevent hernias, prolapse, diastasis recti & back pain.
Post Natal Pilates teaches the correct deep breathing patterns, bringing together all the elements needed to re-establish the upper & lower core and pelvic floor connection post pregnancy.

It's been 4 weeks since I started with a small group of Ladies at my first better health club in Wexford.
Over the past few weeks we have worked on implementing new healthy eating habits, getting more active and focusing on strength. We have worked through many different challenges...eating out, family events, long weekends, valentines day...the group of 4 Ladies all have very different goals that they are working towards.
They are completely focused on progression, understand what it is they need and want to do and are building in confidence week to week.

After having your first, the reality of time you once had for you is further away than the last thing on your mind. Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, hormones and the fact that you are now full time 100% every second of your day caring for someone else more than you ever cared for yourself. Nappies, feeding time, walking, going here, going there, washing this, washing that. To do list is never ending. You grab any food on the go. Sometimes just coffee. A quick breakfast bar. Sugar & Caffeine for energy to get through your day. Blood sugar levels up and down all day keeping the cycle going into the next. Day by day little by little affecting our mood, hormones, stress levels, quality of sleep, weight loss/weight gain, energy levels..our overall health and wellbeing.
Just for a minute. Imagine. You became more focussed. You had a routine where your day was organised. Apart from the normal sleepless nights experienced by "nearly" every Mam on the planet, your body felt more rested. You actually felt like you had more energy. You were sleeping better. You became more aware of what you ate and why. You became more present in your day. You formed really good healthy eating habits that were sustainable and lifelong.
Sometimes it can mean having someone there who supports, encourages and guides you along the way to that familiar place, routine or feeling that you once felt. Believe me i've been there...felt that... did that 3 times over.

Thanks everyone for the great response to our current competition. We are launching our new set of classes in Wexford this month. We will be adding to our mum and baby post natal pilates classes with the Wednesday workout for women who like to train, this will be a toddler friendly environment but bringing a toddler is not a necessity so if you have a morning free you are very welcome to get involved.
Next week is the open day for our Wednesday Workout. If you haven't booked in yet we still have some places available / if you can't make our open day but would like to book in for the courses they are now open online all you need to do is message us and we'll get right back to you to reserve your spot.
