⚽️Wexford Celtic Ladies team⚽️

Wexford Celtic ladies team played their first game back in league competition after a long absence from Wexford football.

The girls made a long trip to face an experienced Arklow B team. Some injuries, prior commitments & late developments meant we went in with a squad of just 13.

The girls fought their way to a 4-2 away win with 2 goals & 2 assists each from centre forward pairing Eva Hartigan & Abbi Bolger whose running power was on full display & caused Arklow so much trouble on the day.

The girls showed great fight and determination in the moments where Arklow had spells in the game & showed real quality in the last third.

⚽️ U14 Match Reports ⚽️

A tough day for our U14s, with both the A and B teams narrowly losing out 5–4.

🔵 U14 A – Courtown Hibs B 5–4 Wexford Celtic

The A team were away to Courtown Hibs this morning. Despite starting well, we found ourselves 2–0 down after two breakaway attacks. We pulled one back before half-time.

Courtown scored again early in the second half, but the lads showed great character to fight back to 3–3. Two more goals put Courtown 5–3 ahead, but we pulled another one back and pushed hard for an equaliser that, on the balance of play, we deserved.

⚽️ Charlie (2), Robin & Liam

🔵 U14 B – Wexford Celtic 4–5 Adamstown B

The B team started really well and were soon 2–0 up. Adamstown pulled one back just before half-time.

We then went 3–1 ahead, but we conceded some goals in quick succession and then found ourselves 5–3 down. We pulled another goal back but couldn't find the equaliser.

⚽️ Mason W (2), Christian & Mikey

Despite the results, both teams played some really good football, showed plenty of fight and competed right to the final whistle.

Lots of positives to take from both performances. Well done to all the players! ⚽️🔵

Great start to the league the boys have pushed on from the success last season. They were comfortable winners today. Everyone was excellent from start to finish. But we had joint man of the matches: Mark mc Grath and Paddy Quirke with a brace of goals each
