Grappling Industries Debrief 🤼

Easily, one of our best days as a club ⚜️
I took a few hours out of a camping trip to bring a small crew of 8 to compete 🏕️ Even with a reduced numbers, we placed 8th out of 64 🙌🏼
The kids combined brought back 5 Gold 🥇 2 Silver and 4 Bronze 🥉 to Wexford in a very tough tournament 🟪⚜️🟨

Dean O Riordan secured Double Gold for the second time with super slick jiu-jitsu. Amazing feat in such a hard tournament. No ceiling in sight 🥇🥇

Rowan Doyle moved up a weight class and dominated to win another Grappling Industries Gold. Super jiu-jitsu and his wrestling was superb 🥇

Cathal Byrne earned double Gold with his most polished performances to date, using a huge range of submission attempts and takedowns. So cool to see 🥇🥇

Tegan Burke is one of the toughest girl I've met. She had great wins vs much more experienced competitors before having to stop (reluctantly) with injury. Insane potential and only doing it a few months! 🤼

Rowan Larkin won 7 times today in arguably the toughest bracket! By a mile his best tournament. Earned a bronze eventhough he defeated both the gold and silver medalist had the most wins in the division. Incredible day 🥉

Levi Doolan had a savage win vs a great grappler but had to call it a day after an injury. Speedy recovery in one of our most active competitors 🙏🏼

Noah Doolan won a gold in the Nationals last week but wasn't feeling well today and cut his day short but will be back soon. One of our most improved these last few months.

Kian Bailieul keeps getting better and better. Two Silvers in two tough brackets. Two big submission wins. Hit a crooked guard armbar and an armbar from the back. Two things he's been working so hard on. Amazing 🥈🥈

I had a ball today, as I do everyday coaching. The kids were in happy form, performed brilliantly, took the losses on the chin and were so respectful as always. They made me so, so proud 🦚

A little break from competing for a few weeks to focus on our grading. Then back again to see these kids and more excel 🙌🏼

Our first BJJ Ireland Open 🇮🇪

We placed 13th out of 70 teams with a small crew 🙌🏼

The kids were unreal today 🙏🏼 Brave, skilled, and composed. Their wins were epic and hard fought. In defeat, none lost by submission - most were by a couple of points or a refs decision. It showed real maturity in their ever evolving games ♟️
8 Golds 🥇 5 Silver 🥈 and 2 Bronze 🥉

These kids are growing the sport in our county and leading from the front! 🟪🟨 They bring back to our gym so much experience and lessons.

Our club has become a real family. The parents have been so involved the the last few events and I love this ❤️

The atmosphere was busy, intense and warm 🥵 but the kids stepped up in an overwhelming environment, which made me prouder than any win. Their skill is superb and their confidence will eventually match this with more time on the mats and in comps 🤼

11 months into competing, and these kids have already exceeded every expectation. Proud is an understatement 🙌🏼 thank you to Mark Stafford for everything today 🙌🏼 and to .toole.31 too who help coach every week.

Endless hours locked in. All just trying to be better than I was the day before.

If you want to improve in something - put in the hours ⏳ It's not easy. But it's easier if you love it ❤️

That same shift is now in coaching. Showing up every time. Fully dedicated and doing all I can.

I've never missed a day, a training session or competition. And I don't plan to 🙏🏼
