This weekend saw the Irish Pony Club Eventing season kick off with Waterford Hunt Pony Club hosting the first qualifier in Ballinamona! A fantastic day for 27 of our members who represented the club! 🤩

The intermediate section saw Kate Jordan & Serene Ace make their debut at Intermediate level, leading from start to finish with an impressive dressage score of 19.25! 🥇 Jessie Bates & Guns for Hire finished a super 3rd! 🥉 Grace Day & Ask Jim finished just outside the ribbons for 7th! A fantastic day at the office for three fabulous thoroughbreds (Treo Eile) 👏🏻

Amy Griffith & Rebels Mist produced some lovely work to finish 2nd in the Intro Intermediate section!🥈 Niamh Ryan & Rua were just outside the ribbons for 7th!

In Junior A, Freya Barry and The Causey Girl made their IPC eventing debut, leading from start to finish on a beautiful dressage score of 23.75! 🥇 Caitlin Griffith & Drinagh’s Golden Lad finished an impressive 2nd in Junior B, with Liam Robinson & Ruby Cousins finishing just outside the ribbons for 7th & 8th!🥈

A number of our members took on the new Intro Junior class, with Ben Murphy & Knocknacullen Bruno finishing 3rd in Arena A, and Aoife Robinson & Cotts Polly taking home 3rd in Arena B! 🥉🥉

A huge well done to all members on the day, and thank you to all the organisers and volunteers for a fabulous event! 🤩👏🏻

Next week we head to the second qualifier hosted by Wexford Pony Club in The Kennels! 🙌🏻

A fantastic day was had at the Area 4 Showjumping Qualifier hosted by Warrington Pony Club in Warrington Equestrian Centre yesterday! ✨

The Alice Mernagh competition saw Billy Scallan, Scott Doran, Rosie Scallan, & Eleana O’Grady place 2nd, with Maisy Mooney, Kate Gallagher, Lily Wall, & Orlaith McDermott finish close behind in 3rd!🥈🥉

Next up was the Robbie Bailey competition with Lucy O’Brien, Lucy Day, & Shannon Griffith taking the win!🥇Our team consisting of Harriet Bolger, Annie Stafford, Ruth Stafford, & Hannah Kavanagh finished 5th! 🥳

Aoife Griffith, Caitlin Griffith, Ruby Reville, & Max Doran, produced fantastic rounds to take the top spot in the John Ledingham competition!🥇The Colfer Trio along with Mai Donovan (Wexford Pony Club) secured 4th, with Kate Jordan, Grace Day, Jessie Bates, & Judy Sinnott close behind for 5th! 🙌🏻

In the Senior Individual, Freya Barry & The Causey Girl finished 4th! 🤩

Those that placed 1st to 4th now head to the Irish Pony Club Festival later in the season! 👏🏻

The Area 4 SJ Qualifier takes place on Saturday, 9th May, in Warrington Equestrian Centre, hosted by Warrington Pony Club.

IPC Eventing Championship Qualifier Dates 2026

The first Connolly’s Red Mills One Day Eventing qualifier will be held in Ballinamona Equestrian Centre on May 16th

Wishing our members the very best of luck at the Mackey Ireland Irish Pony Club Hunter Trial Championships tomorrow! 🍀

On Thursday, we held our annual Easter Trek on Forth Mountain (followed by plenty of chocolate 🤭) with over 40 members in attendance! 🐣🐰

It was lovely to see everyone out again, as well as meeting some new members and their four legged friends! 😊

A huge thank you to Helen for organising, and to herself & Alannah for taking good care of everyone on the mountain! A special shout out also goes to Forth Mountain Stud for the use of their parking facilities! 🙌🏻

A fantastic day at the Irish Pony Club National Dressage Day in Coilóg Equestrian Centre! ✨

Four of our members headed to Kildare today, and it was certainly worth the trip, with plenty of ribbons heading back to Wexford! 🙌🏻

The U10 class saw Emelia Tobin & Mr Paddington Bear place 2nd in Section A, while Frankie Rath & Catch me Now took 5th in Section B! 🥈

Sarah Kennedy placed 6th in the warm-up and 6th in the competition test in the Intermediate section with Perfect Paddy! 🥳

Keira Crowther & Tomoka Spots took on the Elementary class placing 2nd! The pair then went on to place 2nd in the Open section! 🥈🥈

Well done to our members who attended the Carlow Hunt Pony Club Triathlon/Biathlon last weekend to kick off the 2026 season! 🙌🏻
