A hugely valuable weekend at the Irish Swim Coaches Conference in UCD for our coaching team — with Martun, Murt, Debbie and Lucian representing the club.
We were delighted to hear from an outstanding line-up of speakers across the weekend:
Saturday: Russell Mark
Sunday: Gary Stoops, India McGlynn, Fran Ronan and Andy Reid
There was so much to take away — from coaching approaches and athlete development to the wider direction and opportunities within Irish swimming.
Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to reflect, learn from others and return to the pool with fresh ideas, renewed energy and practical insights that we are excited to share with our swimmers and club community.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising such an informative event. We can’t wait to put what we learned into practice and continue supporting our swimmers to enjoy, develop and achieve in the water.

Welcome back to another fantastic season, swimmers, coaches and parents. We're a swimming community for everyone — whether you're here to stay active, or to compete in swimming or water polo. From early morning sessions to evening training, there's something to suit every swimmer. Backed by a tremendous committee and dedicated coaches, we warmly welcome anyone interested in joining us.

A Huge Thank You to Niall Reck 🙏

As Niall Reck steps down as Chairman of Wexford Swimming Club, we want to take a moment to say thank you.

For years, Niall has given his time, energy, and heart to this club without ever asking for anything in return. His tireless efforts, generosity of spirit, and unwavering enthusiasm have left a lasting mark on our club community, one that will be felt for years to come.

Ask any swimmer or parent and they'll tell you the same thing: Niall always had a big, happy hello waiting for you, whether you were arriving fresh at 6am training or heading home after a long gala. That warmth is what made our club feel like family.

Thank you, Niall, for everything you've built and given to Wexford Swimming Club. We're so grateful for your leadership and even more grateful for your friendship.

What a year it's been for Wexford Swimming Club. 🔥🏊‍♀️

We are a small club. But this year, at both the Irish Age Group and Senior National Championships, our swimmers proved that heart, dedication and hard work can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the country.

🏅 AGE GROUP NATIONALS — UNIVERSITY OF LIMERICK
16 A Finals. Over 20 finalists. And every single finals swim was a personal best on the heat time.
🥇 Alvar — Triple Gold: 400m, 800m & 1500m Freestyle
🥇 Daniel — Six medals: Gold in 400IM, 200IM & 100m Fly; Silver in 200m Back, 200m Freestyle & 100m Freestyle
👏 Chloe, Amelia & Niamh McCarthy — three swimmers from our club in the same U14 400m IM A Final
👏 Isabella — A Finals in the 100m Breaststroke and 200m IM
👏 Sarah, Mia, Zophia & Emma did us proud on every level!
👏 Killian — made 2 B Finals smashing his PB's. Amazing to watch!

🏅 SENIOR NATIONALS — NAC DUBLIN
🥉 Julia — TWO bronze medals (200m Breaststroke & 400IM), plus A Finals in the 200IM and 50m Breaststroke
👏 Kate — a standout 400m Freestyle PB and a strong 1500m Freestyle finish
👏 Lily — an A Final 7th in the 200m Backstroke and a string of PBs
👏 Sinead — A Final 10th in the 400m Freestyle, with PBs in heat AND final
👏 Aisling — PBs across multiple events and a hard-fought B Final
👏 Ben & Kristian — representing our club with pride on the national stage making us so proud again

None of this happens by accident. It happens through years of early mornings, missed weekends, and a level of dedication most people never see. That's what we're proudest of — not just the medals, but the character behind every single one of them.

Because here's what swimming really gives these young people, long after the medals are put away: lifelong friendships, a work ethic that carries into everything they do, real teamwork, and a routine and discipline that shapes who they become. That's the real win.

This is what Wexford Swimming Club is built on — a small club with a big heart, punching well above its weight.

And we want more young people to be part of it. 🌊
