U16 B County Champions!!!!
Fantastic final against a fine Baltinglass team who just weren’t going to make it easy for the Girls from the Goosebank.
Scoring was slim in the first half but Kilcoole led going into the break.
Then in what was an exciting and nail biting second half, while both teams came out fighting, our amazing girls held their nerve. After a top class goal by Baltinglass, the Kilcoole response was instant with Ornagh McDermott bringing the ball all the way from the back up to the forward line, passed it in, then picked up by Alana Synnott who buried it in the back of the Baltinglass net.
Final score: Kilcoole 3-09 Baltinglass 3-07. Many thanks to especially to Referee John Martin and his umpires, and to Eddie Leonard for presenting the trophy to Captain Sarah Ward who gave a winning speech that was full of heart and pride.
This team showed their dedication and love of football right from the start of the year, a minimum of 100% effort and commitment at each match and training session. Be very proud girls!
Many congrats also to their management, Enda & Paul, and to their FLOs, Paula, Emma & Deirdre. You’ve brought this team to where they are today.
In what was a tough few months, the team bond and support you give each other is immense 💙💙
