Western Gaels Hurling Club extends it's sincere sympathy to the Birchall family on the sad passing of Jimmy.

A gentleman and a great character. Jimmy was a lifelong GAA supporter and he played an integral part at both club and county levels, particularly with Coiste na nÒg. His immense contribution to Wicklow GAA and his unwavering commitment to gaelic games will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

It is with profound sadness that we at Western Gaels have learned of the passing of Fergus Deering.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Fergus’ beloved wife, Louise, and his adored children, Conor, Aoife and Cian. Our thoughts and prayers are also with his extended family and many friends as they come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.

May Fergus rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength and comfort in the love and support of those around them during this incredibly difficult time.

As we reflect back on a week of excitement and celebration, we'd like to take a moment to acknowledge our sponsors who supported us in the lead up to the IHC final and to the local businesses who helped celebrate our victory.

As a small club with limited resources and a dedicated team of volunteers, the support of local businesses means so much to Western Gaels. Your generosity helps us provide for our players and keep the club moving forward.

We are hugely grateful to all our current sponsors, and we also want to acknowledge the businesses who have supported Western Gaels in previous years. Your contribution has helped shape our club and it is genuinely appreciated.

🔹️School Visit🔹️

Some of our intermediate champions were delighted to visit Scoil Nicoláis Naofa, Dunlavin, during the week and bring along the O'Farrell Cup to share the excitement of our recent success with the next generation of hurlers.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the pride, passion and dedication that goes into representing our club and hopefully inspire some young players to pick up a hurley and get involved in the game. Who knows, we may have been meeting some future Western Gaels stars! 🌟

A huge thank you to Michael Moran and the teachers for facilitating the visit and giving us such a warm welcome. We really appreciate your support in helping us promote hurling and encourage young people to get involved in our club and the local community.

Fair play to Luke, Jack, Charlie, Brian and Sandra for making the visit.
