A week ago, I came home from one of the most meaningful trips Iโve ever taken.
My daughters gifted me this trip to Greece.
Not because it was my birthday.
Not because there was a special occasion.
Simply because they wanted us to spend time together.
To my deariesโฆ thank you. ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
More than the beautiful places we visited, Iโll treasure the conversations, the laughter, the scare on the boat ๐ฑ๐คชand the quiet moments we shared. I love you both more than words can express.
As I reflected on the week, I realized that the greatest gift wasnโt the trip itself.
It was seeing the relationship weโve built over the years.
As parents, itโs so easy to become consumed by todayโs challengesโthe sleepless nights, the endless decisions, the moments when we wonder if weโre getting it right.
But parenting has never just been about getting through today.
Itโs about building a relationship that will continue to grow long after childhood is over.
Our relationship certainly isnโt perfect. Weโve had hard seasons, weโve disagreed, weโve repaired, and weโve grown together. But this trip reminded me that the thousands of ordinary momentsโthe moments of showing up, listening, holding boundaries with love, and staying connectedโreally do matter.
More than ever, I believe that the greatest gift we can give our children isnโt a perfect childhood.
Itโs becoming the calm, intentional, and emotionally present parent they always know they can come home to.
This trip wasnโt a reward for perfect parenting.
It was a beautiful reminder that relationships are built over thousands of ordinary moments.
And for that, I am deeply grateful.
