"I don't want to do this anymore."
"My life isn't what I thought it was going to be."
"I don't know who I am anymore."
"I'm not sure where I go from here."

Are you hearing these words from your midlife clients?
Maybe she's questioning her marriage.
Maybe she's lost all motivation for the career she spent 20 years building.
Maybe her children have left home and she's wondering what is left for her.
Maybe she's suddenly questioning decisions that, until recently, she seemed completely comfortable with.

As a therapist or coach, there are so many ways you could understand what is happening.
Empty nest.
Burnout.
Relationship dissatisfaction.
A midlife crisis.
Changing priorities.
A woman finally asking herself what SHE wants.

But what else could be going on?
Could perimenopause be part of the picture?

❇️ And I want to be really clear about what I mean by that.
Being menopause informed is NOT about blaming menopause.
It's not about using hormones as an excuse for everything a woman is experiencing.
And it's certainly not about dismissing her very real feelings with:
"Oh, it's probably just menopause."

It's about getting curious about the intersection between menopause and everything else that is happening in her life.
Because menopause doesn't happen in isolation.
It happens right in the middle of marriages, careers, ageing parents, teenagers, empty nests, changing bodies, shifting identities and questions about what she wants from the next chapter of her life.

And THAT is where the conversation becomes more nuanced.
Instead of asking:
Is this menopause OR is this her life?
A menopause-informed practitioner starts asking:
How might these things be interacting with each other?

You're not trying to explain away her experience.
You're helping her make sense of it.
And sometimes simply understanding that these things are connected can be incredibly powerful for a woman who has spent months thinking:
"What is wrong with me?"
"Why can't I cope anymore?"
"Why don't I recognise myself?"

As her therapist or coach, understanding that context allows you to have a completely different conversation.
A deeper conversation.
A more personalised conversation.
A conversation that sees the WHOLE woman rather than one isolated presenting problem.

That's the difference between being menopause aware and menopause informed.
And this is exactly the perspective I teach inside the Menopause Informed Training Program.

You already know how to coach.
You already know how to support your clients therapeutically.
MIT gives you the menopause-informed lens to uplevel the work you're already doing.

If you work with midlife women, this context is not a "nice to have". It is a must have!
Enrolment for the next MIT cohort is open now.

Your client probably isn't coming to you because of menopause.
She's not walking into her session saying "help me, I'm in peri-menopause!"
She's coming because she can't cope anymore.

Because she's lost her confidence.
Because work suddenly feels overwhelming.
Because she's questioning her marriage.
Because she's anxious when she's never been anxious before.
Because she's exhausted, irritable and doesn't recognise the woman she's becoming.

She is not mentioning menopause.
She may not even realise she's in perimenopause.

And that's exactly why you need to be menopause informed!

Not because menopause explains everything.
And not because every problem a woman experiences in midlife should suddenly be blamed on her hormones.
And not because once you recognise her symptoms you can send her for HRT.

But because if you work with women 40+, menopause is probably playing a bigger than you realise.
That's why being menopause aware isn't enough.
You can know the symptoms.
You can listen to the podcasts.
You can know about HRT, protein, creatine and strength training.

But can you recognise how the menopause transition may be interacting with the very reason your client came to you?
Her anxiety.
Her stress.
Her confidence.
Her relationships.
Her identity.
Her ability to cope.
THAT is being menopause informed.

And that is the missing piece I teach inside the Menopause Informed Training Program - to see what others don't see, to ask the questions others are not asking, to connect the dots in a way others are not.

This is NOT about becoming a menopause specialist.
This is NOT about changing your field or throwing out your prior training.

It's about enhancing and up-leveling what you do already.
If you work with midlife women, this is no longer a nice-to-have.

If you want to position yourself as the go-to expert working with midlife women, you want to become a Menopause Informed Practitioner.

Menopause has become overwhelming and complicated.
What to do and what not to do.
What supplements to take.
What recommendations to follow.
Who to trust and believe.
So much conflicting advice.
What is going to be the magic bullet that makes you feel normal again…..

Become a menopause informed practitioner changes all of that!!!

It's about adding a menopause informed lense to the work you are alreadying doing.
It's about looking at the women sitting in front of you and knowing how to connect the dots and what to recommend HER.
It's about taking all your current training and professional status and up-leveling it so that you become the go-to menopause expert in your field.

We all know the saying "Knowledge is Power".
However when it comes to the menopause conversation what I am hearing is that knowledge is actually confusion!
What is happening today in the menopause space is overwhelming.
So much content
So many recommendations.
So many experts with different opinions.
So much noise.

Women are confused about what to do, what to spend their money on, what works and what is hype, and are jumping on the latest craze.
In a recent post in a menopause support Facebook group, there were 681 comments to a question about weght loss.
How can anyone make any sense from 681 comments about anything!!

If you are a therapist or coach working with midlife women you are probably seeing this show up in your sessions.
Women are coming to you because they are overwhelmed and stress out, they need life coaching to figure out what to do next, they are dealing with resurfaced trauma, or they are thinking about leaving their husband.
They don't recognise themselves any more.

AND they may be experiencing peri-menopause or menopausal symptoms.
Brain fog
No motivation
Not sleeping
Low libido
Weight gain
Hot flashes

The question is, are you able to connect the dots?
I know you have been listening to the podcasts.
I know you know about symptoms.
I know you know about HRT.
I know you know about creatine.

But are you seeing the connection between her peri-menopause experience and the reason why she is in your clinic.
Or are you seeing it as two separate things...... menopause symptoms over here and her struggles and challenges over there.

What if I told you there was a totally different way to reframe everything?
That there was a way to up-level the way you support her.
NOT throw out your existing protocol and methodology, but enhance it with a menopause informed lense.

Because women's experiences are not disconnected.
Because peri-menopause and menopause is NOT just about symptoms.
Because what happens to a women in midlife is a WHOLE BODY experience and is going to be impacting the reason why she is coming to you in the first place.

This is not a nice-to-have.
This is essential if you are working with midlife clients.

Being menopause informed is about:
- recognise how menopause may be showing up beneath the presenting problem
- connecting the dots of your client's experiences
- asking different questions
- bring greater clarity and confidence into your client sessions
- using a menopause informed language that resonates deeply
- personalising the recommendations so it makes sense
- learning how to integrate the WHOLE Women Method into your existing work
- becoming the to-go menopause expert in your field.

If you know that you are missing this piece in your work, I invite you to join the Menopause Informed Training - a program designed specifically for practitioners that combines the science and biology of menopause with practical application and implementation in a clinical setting.

As a therapist, coach or wellness practitioner you can not afford NOT to be menopause informed.
That doesn’t mean you just know about symptoms or to recommend your client goes on HRT.
That’s way too generic for a professional like yourself who is working with midlife women!

Being Menopause informed means you have a deep and profound understanding of how Menopause may affect affecting or impacting the reason why your client is coming to you.

It’s about being able to ask different questions, to listen to the answers and connect the dots of what your client is and is not saying.
It’s about having a knowledge and language that goes way beyond symptom checklists, and understanding how peri-menopause and Menopause is a whole body experience that shows up in different ways for different women.

Being Menopause informed is not a luxury if you are working with midlife clients. It is a must have perspective that up levels the work you do.

🌟 DM me to schedule a call and learn more about the Menopause Informed Training program for practitioners.
I can’t wait for you to join me in the October cohort.

It’s August and I’m off to the beach….
Going to the beach these days looks very different.
At 52, even if it go with the kids and the dog, I don’t have the same bags, bundles and equipment that I used to take when the kids were younger.
Ten years ago going to the beach was a whole day event!!
You had to take enough food, water, towels, sun screen, floaties, boogie boards, hats…..
There were never enough hands to hold the stuff and the kids!
It was stressful as much as it was fun.

Today we’ll go to the beach for a couple of hours, play in the sea, run around with the dog, and come back home feeling like we did something fun!

The point of this…. Not everything in Peri-Menopause is terrible!!

Some things actually get better, it’s just they NO ONE is talking about it.

Everyone that talks about Menopause focuses on the symptoms, how awful this stage of life is, how you don’t feel the same, looks the same, how nothing will ever be the same again!

We seem to have forgotten some essential things.
✅ peri menopause and menopause are part of a women’s natural life cycle - not some sick joke to make women suffer and struggle,
✅the expectation of symptoms or feeling awful frames menopause as this thing to fear and just “muddle through”,
✅many women actually don’t experience debilitating symptoms - not because they are special but because symptoms are not a pre-requisite for this stage of life,
✅there are some really BIG perks of moving into the next life stage,
✅ and most importantly, we are not talking about what happens next…. The joys, beauty, wisdom, confidence and strength that comes in post-menopause.

The current Menopause conversation is not supporting or empowering women. It’s just making us feel more stuck and reliant on medication.

I want you to know that there is a different way to understand and experience your perimenopause and menopause journey!!!🩷🩷

As a therapist, psychotherapist or life coach you may have done some trauma informed training.
You know that this positions you as the expert to deal with women who are going through overwhelm, burnout, anxiety or stress, and realise that the root cause is a past trauma.

But what happens when these women are also going through perimenopause or menopause?

How does that change the conversation?
How does that impact their trauma triggered response?
How does it change the way you support them?

In these situations being trauma informed may not be enough.

Being able to understand the role that peri-menopause plays in trauma may sound unnecessary, but actually, it can totally change the way you understand your client and what they are going through.

Being menopause informed gives you the tools to ask different questions, listen to the answers in a more profound way, understand that things are way more complex then either you or your client realised, and gives you the framework to connect the dots - so that things resonate in a way they never did before!

Being menopause informed is not just a nice to have these days!!
It is essential to making sense of the menopause piece of the puzzle.
It's about understanding that menopause is about way more then just brain fog, sleep changes and hot flashes.

Being menopause informed allows you to understand how and why past trauma may be exaccerbating the stress, anxiety and overwhelm that your client is experiencing.

Being menopause informed then gives you a clear framework to support your clients in a much more profound and meaningful way.

It allows you to position yourself as THE go-to expert for working with midlife clients who experience real transformation!
