My team and I had a great time last week in Lithuania. We travelled for the Vilnius Open by SEB futures tournaments on the international wheelchair tennis tour.

In preparation for the tournament I gave a masterclass that included joint training for Lithuanian, Latvuan and Israeli wheelchair tennis players and coaches. It was a pleasure for me to share some of my coaching knowledge with my Baltic friends. Thank you Michail Levin and Milda Liubiniene for asking me to give the masterclass. 🙏🏼🎾🇮🇱🇱🇻🇱🇹

Then, once the tournament started - Elay Chayot and Shiran Madar had a great tournament - Shiran got a great win in singles and made the doubles finals that she and Giula Valdo couldn't play but still another good result as a team for these two sisters like friends.

Elay won his 5th futures tournament in Vilnius after a tough 3:30 hours finals match that saw him trailing 1:4 in the final set. Elay showed great fighting spirit and mental toughness and managed to comeback and win.

We got great support from Ambassador of Israel to Lithuania Hadas Wittenberg and her family, thank you for finding the time to come and attend the games and the closing ceremony.

I want to thank my assistant coach Doron Rapaport for all his help last week in Vilnius, he did a great job for our team.

I also want to send my thanks to my friend Andrius Liubinas, coach of Lithuanian wheelchair tennis club for his help during the masterclass. 🙏🏼🎾🇮🇱🇱🇹

Proud of both Elay and Shiran for last week and we are already back hard at work trying to improve and get ready for the next tournament.

I always try and maximize my players' potential, in practice and in tournaments and last week was pretty successful. 😀🙏🏼🏆🏆🎾🇮🇱🇱🇻🇱🇹🌍

On his 25th birthday - a new career high quad world rankings for Elay Chayot - 19, congratulations and happy birthday young man, keep growing on and off the tennis courts. 🎉🎂🎾🇮🇱🌍

As a coach I always tell my players - stay in the moment. Today, Elay Chayot showed me he can do that under pressure and during a difficult day.
Elay got the news that his grand father, Reuven, passed away just hours before his first round match at the 2023 Georgia Open ITF1 tournament here in Rome, Georgia.
With a heavy heart Elay decided to play the match wearing a black shirt to honour his late grand father.
At the same time Reuven was burried in Israel Elay played and beat Pablo Araya from Chile 6:4 6:3.
Elay's reward will be breaking into the top 20 in the world's quad singles rankings for the first time next Monday - a career best of 19.
Proud of you Elay, congratulations and my thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire Chayot family during these difficult times. May Reuven rest in peace 🙏🏼
