A preparatory meeting for the 9th North East Mini Jamboree for Scouts & Guides was held on 22nd September 2026 under the chairmanship of Shri Tinku Roy, Hon’ble Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Tripura.

The mega event, being hosted for the first time in Tripura, is scheduled to be held from 1st to 5th December 2026 at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel Complex, Agartala.

The meeting discussed various arrangements and key issues to ensure the successful, smooth and memorable conduct of the event.

The meeting was attended by Smt. Swapna Das Paul, Hon’ble MLA and Vice-President, Tripura State Bharat Scouts & Guides (TSBSG), Shri Tapas Ray, IAS, Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Shri L. Darlong, Director,YAS and Senior officers of DYAS; and officials of TSBSG.

The Director, Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Tripura, visited the Gomati District Office and reviewed the ongoing development of sports infrastructure in the district.

During the visit, the Director inspected the construction site of the Youth Hostel and Indoor Hall, along with the KBI Weightlifting Hall, and took stock of the progress of the ongoing works.

The visit focused on strengthening sports infrastructure and ensuring quality facilities for the training and development of athletes across Tripura.

On the same occasion, the North District Level School Sports Competition 2026–27 was also conducted in the discipline of Football (Under-17 Boys & Girls), encouraging young athletes to showcase their talent, teamwork and sporting spirit.
