Rasadhwani was established in 1990 in Ahmedabad with a mission to promote excellence in the field of Bharatanatyam. http://rasadhwanidance.blogspot.com
In 1995, Rasadhwani became the first Gujarat dance school to be affiliated to Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai and so became eligible for imparting their 7-year Diploma course, Kovid. Since July 2009, Rasadhwani is affiliated to IGNOU and is a study center for their Certificate Programme in Performing Arts. As part of the World Dance Day celebrations organised by JG College of Performing Arts, Rasadhwani is performing in the 2nd of May at 6.30 PM along with 20+ classical dance institutions of Ahmedabad. Rasadhwani is being represented by Anokhee Shah and Rewa Malhotra. It is an open for all event!

Today is WORLD DANCE DAY! I thought of gaining some insight from my students who have been studying Bharata Natyam with me for a couple of years now. Witness part 1 of some pure, raw, innocent and yet insightful thoughts! Happy World Dance Day to everyone!!

Teaching abhinaya where every hasta, angle, bhava, emotional nuance needs to be aligned with the Sahitya of the piece. When this needs to be taught to young dancers, it is a step by step process which might take years for them to register and imbibe. But that doesn’t mean that they should not be trained in the same..:)

When the teacher is in a marathon mood! And has students from multiple batches in front of her, then it turns out to be the juiciest of classes (for the teacher) and the most tiring but rewarding class for the students! I cannot emphasise enough on how much important it is for juniors and seniors to dance together! The give and take of learning is just amazing!
