E-waste in India is rising at the rate of 10 percent. Currently, India generates more than 400,000 tonnes of e-waste per year, old electronic dispose is estimated to be 146,000 tonnes per year. It is assessed that 90-97 percent of e-waste is being recycled by the informal sector using traditional and primitive methods which is not good for health and environment.
