It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Raja Randhir Singh Ji, an Olympian, gold medallist, builder of institutions, and one of the greatest statesmen Indian sport has ever produced.

He competed for India at five Olympic Games. Then spent the next four decades ensuring India competed stronger on the world stage.

From becoming India’s first-ever shooting gold medallist at the Asian Games, to serving as Secretary General of the Indian Olympic Association for 27 years, Raja Randhir Singh didn’t just represent Indian sport. He shaped it.

In 2024, he became the first Indian ever elected President of the Olympic Council of Asia, a moment of pride for the nation and a reflection of a lifetime spent in service to athletes, institutions and the Olympic movement.

TransStadia pays tribute to a legend whose legacy will continue to inspire generations across the sporting world.

A new era for competitive Yogasana begins today. 🌍🏟️

The upcoming World Yogasana Championship 2026 was officially launched at a press conference in New Delhi in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon’ble Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, alongside Mr. Udit Sheth, President of Yogasana Bharat and Founder of TransStadia, Dr Jaideep Arya, Secretary General of World Yogasana and Yogasana Bharat, and the leadership team of Yogasana Bharat.

The launch unveiled the championship’s official film, jersey, trophy, logo, and lion mascot, Veer, setting the stage for a landmark international sporting event.

Scheduled from June 4–8, 2026, in Ahmedabad, the inaugural championship will welcome 500+ elite athletes from over 60 countries, marking a significant step toward establishing Yogasana as a globally recognised competitive sport and advancing its Olympic ambition. 🏅
