Salary credited. First thought: โ€œAb paisa kahan invest karu?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜…

But maybe that's not the first question you should be asking.

Before choosing an investment, ask:

โ€œMujhe ye paisa chahiye kab?โ€

Because โ‚น50,000 that you may need next year is a very different situation from โ‚น50,000 you can leave untouched for 10 years.

That's a very different way of looking at the market.

We've all heard something like this.

But imagine someone removes one thing from the story:

Forget that you bought it at โ‚น1,000.
Today, for the first time, you're looking at the same stock at โ‚น700.

Would you still buy it?

That's the interesting part of behavioural finance.

Our brain often gives too much importance to the first number we see.

So next time someone says:
โ€œBut I bought it at โ‚น1,000โ€ฆโ€

Ask them one question:

โ€œAgar tumne ye stock kabhi own hi nahi kiya hota, toh kya aaj โ‚น700 pe lete?โ€

You may want to send this to that one person who is always anchored to their purchase price. ๐Ÿ˜„
