Nanil Sports Club - NSC

In the Quarter Finals at University of Kashmir South Campus, we won a nail biter. Being able to restrict the opposition to only to 164 despite some fantastic bowling by Aadil Lone, Zahid Ah and Irshad Ah, was never going to be easy on a tricky wicket with variable pace and bounce, coupled with a quality bowling attack of Wonder Boys Akad. We lost two wickets inside 8 balls, with both bowlers putting the ball on a string, swinging it both ways. However, after a brief rebuild it was the Sameer Raj show. He blasted off to 75 runs, taking 28 of those in a single over. He was ably supported by our main man Ishfaq Parray with a classy 30. The skipper Farzan Bashir Dar then closed the tense and nail biting chase with a measured 40*. We march into the semi finals of a tournament that featured 64 teams from across the district. We are scheduled for Friday, weather permitting.

For the pre quarter game of our DCF 40 overs tournament played at Mattan, it was the show. He masterfully decimated the opposition’s bowling, bringing up his 100 off just 51 balls. A fantastic start to the new year for NSC’s main man. He was supported by ‘s 63 off 40 and ‘s marvellous 40 at the top. We ended up with 265 on the board, but in the end won by a slender margin of 6 runs. All thanks to some clutch death bowling by Aadil Lone and miserly bowling in the middle by and Junaid Afridi. Quarter finals, HERE WE COME.

The King Rouf Parray was in his element as we won the 2nd match of the valley championship at University of Kashmir, South Campus. He scored a quick fire 18 runs before bowling 4 overs for 26 runs and taking 4 wickets. Effectively choking the opposition out of the game. Dar Aamir scored 35 off 18 balls and Basit Tramboo hit 32 off 19 balls, lifting the team total to 166 after we were in trouble at 81-6. Fantastic team effort.
