Basant Panchami 2026 🌸

As our tradition goes, ODC Bangalore came together to celebrate Goddess Saraswati—honouring our shared journey of learning, growth, and community.

This day is a reminder that we are not just dancers. We are singers, musicians, and artists, bound by creativity in all its forms.

Here’s to many more Basant Panchamis together 🫶🏽

This week marks the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.

The story of Guruji's life is one of unending dedication. From the traditional expertise of the "Chitrakaras" through the art of the "Gotipua" and "Jatra" parties, the "bhakti" oriented "rasa leela" performances and the innovative attempts of the Annapurna Theatre, Guruji's artistic journey is one of continuous learning and growth. Gifted as he was with a sensitive, respectful and creative disposition, he observed and absorbed facts and phenomena of life around and transcreated them into forms of aesthetic beauty.

His sophisticated choreographies live on through his students and continue to be learnt and performed worldwide.

We at ODC Bangalore had the great fortune of visiting his home last year, the learning ground of our own Guru. His photographs beautifully displayed in the very rooms he taught in, deeply connected us to the roots of the graceful form that is Odissi.

🪷Pankajam🪷

On 22nd November, Pankajam premiered before a full house — an evening where dance, devotion, and storytelling came together in a single bloom.
Rooted in the symbol of the lotus, Pankajam weaves together three traditions, three stories, and three worlds, reminding us of the shared landscape that unites the subcontinent.

Choreographed by Smt. Devjani Sen, Sanskrit script by Pt. Nityanand Mishra, music composition by Sri Sukanta Kumar Kundu.
