From the studio to the Great Wall. To Everest Base Camp. To the road. 🔥
Runners, cyclists, trekkers - the demands are different. The approach to build is the same: a body that stabilises under load, moves without restriction, and holds up when it matters most.
This is what equipment-based Pilates trains. Not fitness for its own sake - fitness that supports what you actually do. And keeps injury from getting in the way of it.
Stabilisation. Mobilisation. Precise instruction with real-time correction. Every session.
Private sessions. 45 minutes. By appointment.

You spend hours at a desk. Your neck knows it. Your shoulders know it.
Forward head posture. Rounded shoulders. Stiff lower back.
Chronic tension that won’t quit.
These aren’t personal failures - they’re predictable patterns from prolonged sitting. And stretching alone won’t fix them.
Pilates systematically addresses the underlying causes: strengthening what’s weak, lengthening what’s tight, and retraining how you move.
Your job isn’t going anywhere. The desk isn’t going anywhere. But the way your body responds to it can change.

Thirty years in this work, and occasionally - a client gets there before I do. 🤷♀️
She’d been with me for months.
Chronic fatigue, neck and shoulder tension, a travel schedule that answers to no one.
We’d built something solid on two sessions a week.
Then she asked for a third.
My hesitation had nothing to do with her effort. It was her life I was thinking about - the trips, the disruptions, the way missed sessions can quietly turn from setbacks into reasons to stop. I’d seen it before.
She said: “I feel like I could manage a third day. I know myself - I think I’m ready for it.”
I decided to take her at her word.
What followed surprised me.

Functional fitness isn’t a workout style.
It’s a standard - can your body do what your life asks of it?
If you’ve been training consistently but still feel the gap between effort and ease, it may be time to look at how, not just how much, you’re training.

If you’ve arrived at this stage feeling like you’ve somehow failed your own body - that years of doing everything right should have insulated you from all of this - please hear this clearly.
It hasn’t failed you. It’s simply in transition.
Perimenopause is not the end of your fitness story.
It’s a new chapter that asks for a little more intelligence, a little more patience, and a great deal more self-respect.

Too little doesn’t serve you.
But too much - the wrong kind of hard - doesn’t either.
Perimenopause demands precision, not just effort.
This is one of the most important shifts for women in their forties and early fifties to understand.
Effort still counts. Intensity still matters.
But this phase calls for a re-evaluation of how they are applied.
More on this in the blog.
