I read this powerful quote this morning...
"There is no secret to success; there is a system to success." (I was unable to ascertain who this quote is attributed to.)
This deeply aligns with my beliefs and experiences. I believe that success is the outcome of setting up the right systems and then acting in alignment with them consistently.
A successful team is not an outcome of excellent individual performances; rather, it is an outcome of systems that enable each and every member of the team to contribute their best consistently.
This post is dedicated to an outstanding project team that I was once part of.
I believe that all of us want to be part of a winning team, and in my experience, the fuel that propels the team towards massive success is... Momentum.
As John C. Maxwell said, “While a good leader sustains momentum, a great leader increases it.”

How do I improve my team performance?
I have had the privilege to be in a few conversations in the last few months where my clients have asked me this question.
To respond to this, I often share the metaphor of the elephant and the rider.
I tell them that the quickest and easiest way to move the elephant (performance) is by influencing the rider (team).
The next question, a rhetorical one, is... How is your influence on the Rider?
I strongly believe that improving team performance is a journey, and influencing the Rider is the key to steering the Elephant.
As leaders, let's ensure that the Rider is always in the frame😊.
