AI in the Skies - With over 40 years of my experience in Aerospace, I have seen the roots of AI and ML in Aircraft design, manufacturing and MRO, in various forms such as Statistical Process Control, Process Capability, Reliability Engineering, Design for Six Sigma, Predictive Maintenance, Regression models etc. Most of these design, manufacturing and MRO decisions were taken through a strong set of statistical equations. No doubt the current AI has taken this few steps ahead. But the fundamental concepts are deeply rooted in the DNA of Aeronautical Engineering.

Just recalling the First edition of this Aero India show in 1996, when I was working in ADA, Ministry of Defence. Just a few months before, in 1995, India LCA Aircraft Roll-out was done successfully under the Leadership of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who was then the Director General of ADA. This Airshow, the first of its kind in India was the brain child of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and our ADA team also contributed towards the logistics of this event management. Now I am very glad to see this tradition going stronger and stronger by every Edition.
