The Gang!
Guys, it's now hitting me what an incredible feat we have been able to achieve in the 2 months that we have been together since our inception. Leaving out the statistics and numbers and strategies aside (will leave that to the Captain), I just want to say how incredibly proud I feel with each and every one of you putting in your best for BUO.
Standout moments for each player that I found stellar.
================================================
1. Maggy playing savage for us on day 1 and with super co-ordination with Navneeth to make playes down the line. She is definitely going to make it big. Game.
2. Shri - I have absolutely no words to describe the excellence we saw with Pogo. What an incredible awareness in the game. And such precise plays to break cups as was highlighted by Airbenders Neo. The MVP awards speak for themselves. Game.
3. Srishti - Herculean effort on day 1 playing savage and keeping the morale of the team up from the sidelines. I as the Spirit captain found myself failing to do the job but never Srishti. Always the motivation. Always the belief. Game.
4. Sowmya - Sunscreen and tackle goddess :D but jokes aside, I found her plays monumental in breaking the cup. Be it upline passes from Kabir when no-one was available for cutting, or the through-cup low releases from Navneeth. It was insane the amount of space she covered and the amount of times she cut and got free for a pass. Deserving MVP as well on day 2. Game.
5. Elisa - I remember on day 2, in midfield while making a cut, Elisa tripped and it was a hard-fall. I was on the left-wing. She did not even ask for a game-play interruption. Got up, brushed it off and ran hard into the game with no delays as if nothing had ever happened. The most nonchalant player amongst us all. Again, always available for cut-passes from the handlers being aware that a cup-defence was in place so she had the opportunity of making free plays. If I had to choose an MSP for GoT over all , it would be Elisa hands-dows for me. Game.
6. Shantanu with a kick-ass day 3. What insane Ds and deep-end plays. Exponential growth over the course of the 6 games he played. Especially remember one specific point where he made a play with Sreejith on Day 2. Down the line one-on-one into the end-zone making a point. Super play. Deserving of the MVP on day 3. Game.
7. Vicky - The standout moment I remember is that insane Scoober into the end-zone to make a point on day 1/2. Always made sure players are well hydrated calling out 'Water!' from the sidelines at the smallest opportunity we got after a point. Also, a couple of great end-zone grabs himself on field 7. Game.
8. Jainesh bhai always the entertainer but always the playmaker as well. Standing out distinct in his bright blue jersey. The main guy to mark El-Diablo on day 2 which I think was monumental for our victory in that game. Massive reach. One stand-out point I remember is the inside-out huck to Pogo into the end-zone on field 5 on day 3. That confidence. God-Level. Also the Khakras, God-Level. Also the riddles. Game.
9. Pratik - Good cutting skills. The stand-out moment I remember was when I hucked one into the end-zone and he made that hard left cut to grab that point in the end-zone with a man-on on day 1. And the celebration that followed. Epic. Superb cutting plays with the Airborne SP team in the morning. Game.
10. Jay - Hey Man! Wutsup! Laying the foundation for the Game of Throws - There will be Blood! from game 1. His bleeding knees never stopped him from going hard into each point that he was involved in. Remember one insane point with him on field 9. Awareness in the game-play, quick reactions and those low-releases. _/\_. Game.
11. Rahul - Distinctly remember that one long huck grab from him in the end-zone on field 9. Comes hard on the disc for each pass and has an excellent disc catching technique. I believe one of the safest catchers of our group. Also, he has a brilliant backhand which we did not get to exploit much because he played mid to deep. Really hoping we could use it in future. Game.
12. Abhimanyu - The Freedom he had as a cutter was great. Dedication towards the game. One-on-one Love passes with Kunal ;) Those 360 degree pivot turns when holding the disc to be aware of a dump-pass to the handler. The ignorance to injuries. The mud-skids to catch the disc no matter what. The Spirit shown during foul calls. The fun at the sidelines. Despite being tired, putting some water on his head and running back into the game for plays. Massive respect. Epic plays. Game.
13. Sreejith - I don't think the word 'fear' exists in his dictionary. Diving on Mud-fields. Getting injured. Diving despite. Getting Guards. Diving again. Like Why? How?! There have been so many that I fail to point out a single event. I also believe he has developed an excellent fake over the course of BUO. Quite an excellent skill to have. Beautiful High Jump grabs and great end zone Ds to save points. Game.
14. Kunal - The daredevil of the group along with Sreejith. But as we had discussed, there is a short-circuit that happens in Kunal's brain when Kunal and the Disc are in the endzone together. The whole world vanishes except those two. There has to be a connection no matter what!! How can anyone forget the Killer Layout that got us our first victory as a team on a universal point. All thanks to this guy. Massive skills as a cutter as well which again was aptly highlighted when he was awarded with the MVP. Game.
15. Navneeth - The best addition to GoT since its inception. He has been the stand-out play maker for most of our points.
What mad fakes behind the markers' heads confusing them into oblivion. The control over his ambidextrous throws which he carefully used. The low releases to break cups. The speed. I think the number of MVPs awarded to him by other teams are proof of how epic a player he is. Game.
16. Kabir - The Captain. The most technically sound player of GoT. He is 'The Wall'. Holding the fort strong as a handler.
If there is no-one to pass to, close your eyes, float the disc and rest assured Kabir would have grabbed it and he would now be waiting for you to open your eyes to move forward for the next pass :D. He is that trustworthy. Equally powerful Forehand and Backhand hucks. The Warcry developer, The Motivator, The Strategist, The Leader, The Real MVP. O Captain! My Captain! Game.
17. Mudit - I think he was good at waking people up and getting them to the games. Also equally good at eating potatoes from the sidelines. Sheer genius. Game.
