In pursuit of climbing to the peak, one goes through a myriad of challenges. A mountain is initia
lly critical of a climber. One needs to be fit to be able to climb and fitness requires discipline. Then comes perseverance, fitness of the mind! As the trail twists and turns treacherously, towards a peak shrouded by unyielding clouds, fatigue sets in. Only the determined will pull through, against scorching heat and freezing winds. After a point, the body goes numb and oblivious to pain. Only the mind is awake and one can literally hear it speak. It’s a mysterious phase of heightened awareness. It is here, when the mind has complete control of the body and can push it beyond unthinkable limits, or bring it to a crippling halt. Giving courage to worn out fellow climbers, even in face of such adversity, fosters comradeship. And during all this, one cannot afford to be unscrupulous with the essentials, food and water, as they are limited and one thus learns to be resourceful. A sound, resolute mind is thus tested and tempered by the towering mountains, only to be rewarded with enchanting views and crisp, invigorating mountain air. It is a humbling experience in all certainty. You will come down a changed person, a person of character and experience. Founded - 2010
