No food by itself can help one lose weight. One has to create a caloric deficit, that is burn more calories than are consumed in a day.
In most cases, a caloric deficit of 10 to 15 percent works best, and a higher caloric deficit generally causes more muscle loss than fat loss.

Yeah. Most of the people fail at following any fitness regimen consistently because they are always dependent on their will power rather than discipline.
In order to build a great discipline we need to be at the right environment or build it so that we can be on right track most of the time.
So from now instead of sleeping late and deciding to wake up next morning early using your will power, build an environment using which you can sleep early so you need zero will power to wake up.
