Representatives from the Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi, including Mr. Martin Egknud Petersen, Deputy Head of Mission, visited the Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) and interacted with Dr. K. Govindaraj, MLC & President, KOA/FIBA Asia, on sports development and initiatives in Karnataka.

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on promoting sports and fostering international engagement through sport.

The Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) expresses its deepest condolences on the sudden and tragic passing of Shri Raja Randhir Singh ji.

Shri Raja Randhir Singh ji was a monumental figure in the sporting world—a legendary Olympian, Asian Games Gold Medallist, and one of the most revered sports administrators in India, Asia, and the International Olympic Committee. His historic election as the first Indian President of the Olympic Council of Asia remains a proud milestone for our nation.

The S.M. Krishna Memorial Open ATP Challenger 50 commenced with a special opening ceremony at the S.M. Krishna Tennis Stadium, Bengaluru, paying tribute to the legacy of Late Shri S.M. Krishna.

The ceremony featured a symbolic balloon release in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, players, officials, and tennis enthusiasts. The event was graced by Dr. K. Govindaraj, MLC & President, Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) and FIBA Asia, along with members of Late Shri S.M. Krishna’s family and officials from AITA and KSLTA.

Bengaluru is set to witness an exciting week of world-class tennis action. 🎾

The Karnataka Olympic Association mourns the passing of former Indian Basketball Captain and Olympian Jennifer Paes, a pioneer of Indian women’s basketball and an inspiration to generations of athletes.

An Olympian at the 1972 Munich Games and a respected leader of Indian basketball, her contribution to Indian sport will always be remembered with great respect and admiration.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and the sporting fraternity.
May her soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.

Dr. K. Govindaraj, President, Karnataka Olympic Association & FIBA Asia, was present at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Draw Ceremony and the FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Induction Ceremony held at Kraftwerk, Berlin.

He attended alongside Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani, Andreas Zagklis, and Hagop Khajirian, and also took part in the FIBA Central Board Meeting in Berlin.
