'Grind grind grind' was the flavour of the night as Hashir offered all his opponents happy hours with 1+1 on the goals the scored, including overturning a first leg semifinal 2-1 defeat to win the overall game 4-3 on aggregate!

Back with a bang! Congratulations to our lad Kiran Acharya for finishing as the runner up in the FIFA 19 Bangalore Qualifier!

WWFC’s 2019 marquee signing Utkarsh ‘Utki’ Khanna obliterated the competition at the Living Room FIFA 19 Tournament to win 7.5 Million Iranian Rial Cash Prize!

Utkarsh had a magical unbeaten run to the finals, beating, bullying, and smashing opponents with his unique defense strategy (sorry can’t reveal more than that, trade secret, guys) as opponents were left flustered and busy rage-smashing controllers every time they had to start from kick-off after conceding YET ANOTHER goal to the Utki flying goal-machine.

LIVING Room tournament it sure was, but our boy Utki bought DEATH to everyone in the room (pun pun pun). Many minutes of silence were observed at the funeral of FIFA players that Utki left in his trailblazing awake! Many defeated opponents were left wondering – What is the meaning of life? What is the meaning of FIFA? What is the meaning of putting so many hours of practice only to come get humiliated by Utki? – existential questions are not our specialty, so we didn’t answer, but giving an answer to those who dared to even try to score against Utki surely is our specialty, and boy did they find out – 1-0…2-0…3-0…YOU WANT SOME? COME GET SOME BOOM!

The final was a closely contested affair with Utki losing the first of the double-elimination game – however, this game ended better than Game of Thrones (not a very high bar to beat we admit), with Utki winning the second leg and the grand prize!

WWFC wishes Utki all the best for the upcoming LXG ILG fest. Go get ‘em.

Emad put the counter, the culture, and the clash in the CounterCulture Clash tournament (pun pun pun)! As the old adage goes, if you’re playing against Emad, you’re going to see GREEN on the SCREEN and RED in your HEAD cuz it’s GAME OVER BABY!

In the singles category, Hashir played the perfect tournament to trailblaze his way to the trophy – Played 6, won 6 - unbeaten throughout the tournament, with his games less of a fair match and more of a highlight reel with goals flying in from every area and angle of the pitch coupled with ruthless tiki-taka goals to deliver the KO punches! His road to the final was filled with revenge and rage missions – defeating the player who knocked him out the last time around in the Round of 16, defeating the ESL Champion 5-1 in the Quarters, defeating the defending champion himself 3-1 in the semi-finals, and finally delivering his finishing move to the opponent who knocked him out in the last edition of the Clan Cup to win 1-0 in the finals and win the ultimate prize! His unbeaten stream implies he did not even have to use his 1-match buffer loss available in the double-elimination bracket, a sight unheard of in competitive eSports tournaments! A worthy champion!

CLEAN SWEEP! Whitefield Wanderers FIFA Club are proud to announce that their 2019 marquee ICON signings Utkarsh Khanna and Hashir did a clean sweep of the FIFA 19 Clan Gaming Championship in both the singles and coop category!

In the coop category, Utkarsh and Hashir ( as they are popularly known in the local Bangalore eSports scene) would start slow and manage to finish only second in the group stages, implying a harder road to the finals – however, the boys would soon change gears and up the tempo, defeating the parallel group winners in the semi-finals in a tense 2-legged affair, with (who else but) Messi scoring a stoppage-time winner to break hearts after waves and waves of attack refused to break down the opponent’s defence. On to the finals, where the lads faced up against the very same team that had defeated them in the group stages – clearly underdogs against the much more favoured opponent, WWFC’s boys would play the game of a lifetime, closing down every attack, making every pass count and every tackle hurt before Coutinho would send the café into uproar with a 35-yard long-range screamer! 1-0 to the WWFC and that’s how it stayed till the 90th minute for the boys to get their gold! When questioned about their victory in the post-match interview, the boys cheekily remarked, “we never lost hope, even when we were trailing games – when under pressure, all we had to do was "
