a residential camp for teenagers to experience culture, history and pulse of our land

For both Girls and Boys of 13 to 17 years of age.

tasting Keralam - a residential camp for teenagers to experience culture, history and pulse of our land is for the children of high school and higher secondary school classes. This residential camp provides an opportunity to experience Keralam, from cultural heritage and history to food and games.

In this Monsoon camp we focus on
- A 7 day specialized training in Kalaripayattu.
- Trips to understand history, culture, science and technology, and village governance of Keralam combined with presentations, performances and demonstrations including visits to museums (Folk art forms, Theatre, Kathakali and Mohiniyattam).
- Nature films followed by Nature trek.
- Food served at the camp will be selected items from Kerala’s traditional cuisine.
- There will be time to play village games.
- Interactions with dignitaries from various career fields and young leaders.

Apart from these, the camp will have classes in Self-discipline and improving concentration, Life Skills. Every participant will get time to show case their talents at the camp fire. The medium of interaction will be Malayalam and English.

The camp is restricted to 40 participants of age group 13 to 17 years.
The last date of registration is June 30, 2014.

The participant fee is INR. 16,000/- (Indian Rupees Sixteen Thousand Only).
The participants will have to make their own arrangements to reach the camp site.

Greetings from Thrissur !

I am organising a programme for teenage children of pravasi malayalees in the end of July 2014. It is “tasting Keralam” - a week long residential camp for teenagers to experience culture, history and pulse of our land. I have started a new platform, TRY Media and Publishing Pvt. Ltd (www.trymedia.co) for my work with teenagers and young people. It is envisaged to provide learning solutions to schools, small businesses and students. This residential camp is part of this new initiative.
