6th District Baramulla Taekwondo Championships Conclude Successfully at JKSC Indoor Sports Complex, Khwajabagh.

The 6th District Baramulla Taekwondo Championships concluded successfully with a vibrant closing ceremony at the JKSC Indoor Sports Complex, Khwajabagh, Baramulla. The two-day championship was organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Baramulla under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council and the J&K Taekwondo Association.

A total of 150 athletes from various schools and clubs across District Baramulla participated in the championship, showcasing remarkable skill, discipline, and sportsmanship. The gold medalists selected during the event will go on to represent District Baramulla at the forthcoming J&K UT Taekwondo Championships.

The championship received valuable support from the J&K Sports Council, the J&K Taekwondo Association, and Warmup Electric Hamam.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Adv Neelofar Masood, Vice President of the J&K Taekwondo Association, as the Chief Guest, while Tariq Ahmad Magloo, President Traders Federation Baramulla, attended as Guest of Honour.

Guests of Honour present on the occasion included Gulzar Ahmad Zargar (President Press Club Baramulla), Nighat Shafi (Chairperson Help Foundation) ,Anzar Ahmad Mujoo, Irshad Ahmad, Farooq Ahmad Rather, Mushtaq Ahmad Kirmani, Mir Mohsin (Owner Warmup Electric Hamam), Dr Rameez Mehraj, and Showkat Ah Shah.

Special Guests included Adv Rabia W**k, Ms. Asma Qureshi (Co Founder Shehjar), Sajaad Ah, and Adv Adil Jamal.

The Referee Panel comprised Hashim Majeed, Mohsin Ali, Abrar ul Haq, Aksa and Others who ensured fair play and adherence to competition standards throughout the event.

The Organizing Committee included Mumtaz Nazir (Organizing Secretary TADB) and Aqib Hussain Lone, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the championship.

Showkat Ah Shah was appointed as the observer by J&K Sports Council.

Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony, Adv Neelofar Masood congratulated all medalists, participants, coaches, referees, and parents for making the championship a grand success. She also expressed her sincere gratitude to Nuzhat Gul, Rajesh Pangotra, and Ramesh Chander Sharma for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout the event.

The successful completion of the championship marks another important milestone in promoting taekwondo and nurturing young sporting talent in District Baramulla.

The 6th District Baramulla Taekwondo Championships began today at the JKSC Indoor Sports Complex Khwajabagh Baramulla. Organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Baramulla under the aegis of J&K Sports Council and J&K Taekwondo Association, the event sees over 130 athletes competing in Sub Junior, Junior, and Senior categories.

DIG North Kashmir Shri Maqsood ul Zaman (IPS) graced the opening ceremony as Chief Guest, with Ms Neha Jain (IPS) as Guest of Honour. The championship is supported by J&K Taekwondo Association, J&K Sports Council and Warm Up Electric Hamam (Baramulla).

Shri Maqsood Ul Zaman congratulated all athletes and the organizing committee for hosting this wonderful event.

"The event is a testament to the growing talent in Taekwondo in the district," said Adv Neelofar Masood, Vice President, JKTA, thanking Secretary Sports Council Ms Nuzhat Gul for her support.

In the Referee Panel Suhail Ahmed Khan (National Referee), Hashim Majeed (National Referee), Mohsin Ali ( SR), Mumtaz Nazir ( Organizing Secretary), Abrar Ibni Akbar (SR).

The championships conclude tomorrow.

We successfully completed today a two days free Taekwondo training camp at Gulzar Memorial College of Education Nowpora Sopore.

The Training camp was organized by the Baramulla Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association lead by Mr Mohsin Ali (Coach).

We wish luck to our athlete Faizan Hassan of Baramulla along with all the selected athletes who will be representing our esteemed J&K UT at the Junior National Taekwondo Championships 2024 to be held at Aurangabad.

J&K Taekwondo teams leave for Maharashtra

JAMMU, August 14: Selected by the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA), Junior (41st Kyorugi and 14th Poomsae) National Championships to be held at Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad in Maharashtra from August 18 to August 20.
Earlier, the selected teams were screened by the officials of J&K Sports Council (JKSC), including Divisional Sports Officer, Baljinder Pal Singh and Manager Indoor Complex and Judo coach, Suraj Bhan Singh in the presence of veteran sports administrator, Dr S M Bali.
Also present were general secretary of the JKTA, Ramesh Chander Sharma and joint secretary (JKTA), Anuj Sharma.
Meanwhile, the JKTA thanked Secretary JKSC, Nuzhat Gul for the support and encouragement.

Truly sad to hear about the loss of Shri D.N Pangotra Ji. It's clear that he was a remarkable individual who played a vital role in the growth of Taekwondo in Jammu and Kashmir. His dedication and passion for the sport have left a lasting impact. My heartfelt condolences go out to Master Atul Pangotra and his family during this challenging time.
