The Basic

The Basic has always been a pioneer in offering a platform for comfort, and corporate accommodation. Now, we've expanded to create Cogitaria, a platform dedicated to thinkers. The name is derived from "cogitate" and "aria."

This season, we collaborated with BEADS, an experimental design studio, for their One Wall residency program. This unique initiative selects an artist to express a topic on a wall, sparking discussions and engaging viewers. This resonated perfectly with the concept of Cogitaria.

On November 11th, Bhubaneswar witnessed the open day of this art residency, featuring "The Temple of Illumination." This profound artistic portrayal, addressing the pressing "Climate crisis," was curated by artist-in-residence Tapan Moharana. The event also highlighted intriguing elements like Ravana Chayya and Nabagunjara, adding an extra layer of mystique to the evening's experience.
