The Martial Arts Academy, Seishinkai Bardhaman

28th West Bengal State Karate Championship 2026 was held at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra, Kolkata, on 27th & 28th June 2026. It was organised by Karate-Do Association of Bengal & approved by Karate India Organisation.

Almost 1200 participants from 23 districts of West Bengal participated in this event. 10 karate players from The Martial Arts Academy, Seishinkai Bardhaman represented Purba Bardhaman District in 28th West Bengal State Karate Championship 2026 and have won total 8 medals including 3 Gold, 2 Silver & 3 Bronze.

Voidyuti Mandal - Gold (12 yrs Female Kata), Bronze (12 yrs -55 kg Female Kumite)
Ayantika Saha - Gold (10 yrs +40 kg Female Kumite)

Purba Bardhaman's Ayantika Saha clinches Silver at the KIO National Karate Championship 2026! 🥈🥋

The 5th KIO Sub Junior, Cadet & Junior Karate Championship 2026 was held at the Multi Purpose Hall, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from 4th to 7th June 2026. Organised by Karate India Organisation (KIO) – the Governing Body for Karate in India (affiliated to WKF), it was hosted by Uttarakhand Karate Association.

The rise of a prodigy is rarely a straight line—it is a story of grit, relentless discipline, and a steady climb to the absolute top. Today, Purba Bardhaman celebrates its very own martial arts powerhouse, Ayantika Saha, who has stormed her way to a spectacular Silver Medal at the prestigious KIO Sub Junior, Cadet & Junior Karate Championship 2026 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand!

Competing in the highly intense 10 Years +40 KG Female Kumite division, Ayantika turned the national tatami into her own proving ground. Her road to the finals was nothing short of a masterclass in elite technique and fierce determination, as she decimated top-tier challengers from Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu in four consecutive, dominant bouts. While the gold narrowly eluded her in a thrilling final against Assam, it was her unwavering, lion-hearted fighting spirit that truly stole the show and won the hearts of the spectators.

She is now two-time National medalist in her third appearance at the authentic National Karate Championship.

🏆 Team West Bengal stood 4th overall with 36 medals (10 Gold, 8 Silver, 18 Bronze) under the leadership of Hanshi Premjit Sen (President, KAB) and Hanshi Joydeb Mondal (General Secretary, KAB).

🥋 Ayantika Saha Receives Sponsorship for KIO National Karate Championship 2026
Ayantika Saha, karateka from Purba Bardhaman District, received sponsorship support from KAB and Seishinkai West Bengal for the 5th KIO National Karate Championship 2026 in Dehradun.
Ayantika secured 1st place in the KAB State Selection and earned her spot in the West Bengal State Karate Team and competed in the 10 yrs +40kg Female Kumite category.
She was awarded:
• ₹3000/-, Entry Fees, T-Shirt, and ₹2 Lakh Insurance by Karate-Do Association of Bengal
• ₹2000/- by Seishinkai West Bengal
The sponsorship was handed over by her coach Renshi Debasis Kumar Mondal (General Secretary of Bardhaman Karate-Do Association) on 27 May, 2026.

Under the guidance of Hanshi Premjit Sen (President, KAB) and Hanshi Joydeb Mondal (General Secretary, KAB), the West Bengal State Team Selection (Sub Junior, Cadet & Junior) for the KIO National Karate Championship took place from 21st to 23rd May 2026 at the Jawpur Indoor Cricket Academy, Dum Dum.

Around 1,300 players from all affiliated districts of the Karate-Do Association of Bengal (KAB) participated. Representing Purba Bardhaman District, 12 players from the The Martial Arts Academy, Seishinkai Bardhaman put up a strong fight, with several reaching the finals. A special mention to Ayantika Saha, who secured 1st place in the 10 Yrs Female Kumite +40 kg category and earned her selection for the KIO National 2026!

Additionally, our Chief Coach, Renshi Debasis Kumar Mondal (AKF Judge), served as the Tatami Manager for the event.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hanshi Premjit Sen and Hanshi Joydeb Mondal for their visionary leadership in taking KAB to new heights.
