"Already performed the noble act of donating blood? Here are a few things to keep in mind after blood donation -
1. Keep the strip bandage on for the next six hours; to avoid a skin rash, clean the area around the bandage with soap and water.
2. Don’t do any heavy lifting or vigorous exercise for the rest of the day.
3. If the needle site starts to bleed, apply pressure and raise your arm straight up for 5-10 minutes or until bleeding stops.
4. Call the blood bank to report any discomfort.
5. Keep eating iron-rich foods."

"The process of blood donation is simple and consists of 4 steps -
Registration - You fill up the registration form and gives your consent for donation.
Medical Check up - Your Medical History & life style is asked along with check up of temperature, blood pressure, pulse and haemoglobin.
Donation - Phlebotomist draws unit of blood. A new sterile needle is used to draw each unit and the needle is destroyed after it has been used.
Refreshment - Enjoy snacks and drinks juice to replenish fluids."
