Cycle Rally under the Campaigning of Fit India Movement

Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, Punjab was the Chief Guest and S. Malvinder Singh Kang and Sh. Sorabh Kumar Arora, PCS, Director Sports U.T Chandigarh were the guests of honour. Chief Guest gave away the Trophies, Medal and individual prizes to the Winner, Runners up and Third Position teams.

Hockey Chandigarh along with the all units members Celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2025 with a great pump & show. All the Members, Officials and more than 600 Players were gathered at Sector 42, Hockey Stadium and took a pledge of Fit India as guided by the Sports Ministry Govt. of India. The National Anthem was also observed.

On that day the Final Match of Chandigarh State Senior Men Hockey Championship was played between 3BRD Airforce and S.G.G.S. Hockey Club 26, in which 3BRD Airforce Won the Title of the Championship and S.G.G.Hockey Club 26 got the 1st Position in the women Categories.

Hero Asia Cup 2025 Trophy Unveiled in Chandigarh, Hockey Chandigarh Felicitates Bronze Medalist Team

Chandigarh, August 23 — Hockey Chandigarh organized a grand ceremony at Hotel Hyatt Centric, Sector 17, to unveil the Hero Asia Cup Men’s Hockey 2025 Trophy. The event was marked by enthusiasm as Chandigarh got the honor of welcoming the prestigious trophy ahead of the tournament scheduled in Rajgir, Bihar, from August 29 to September 7, 2025.

Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill and Punjab MP Malvinder Singh Kang were the special guests of the occasion. Both dignitaries jointly unveiled the trophy and extended their best wishes to Team India for the upcoming championship.

On this occasion, Hockey Chandigarh President Karan Gilhotra welcomed the dignitaries and lauded the contribution of players who continue to bring glory to the city. He emphasized that Chandigarh, known as the nursery of Indian hockey, would strive to reach new heights through such initiatives.

The ceremony also celebrated another proud achievement — the Chandigarh Men’s Hockey Team, which won the Bronze Medal in the 1st Hockey India Masters Games 2025. The team was felicitated with shawls and mementos in recognition of their remarkable performance and for bringing laurels to the City Beautiful.

The 12th edition of the Hero Asia Cup will feature India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, China, and Malaysia, along with two teams qualifying through the AHF Cup. The tournament is expected to be a milestone for Indian sports infrastructure and give Bihar a prominent place on the international hockey map. Notably, Rajgir successfully hosted the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy in November 2024, where India emerged victorious.
