The Department of Physical Education – Teacher Education Learning and Research at Postgraduate Government College Sector-11, Chandigarh, marked the celebration of National Sports Day with fervor and enthusiasm, within the college campus on August 29, 2023. The esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Punam Agarwal, the college's principal, added to the grandeur of the event. Prof. Agarwal was welcomed by Dr. Mahender Singh, Head of the Department of Physical Education. In her speech, Dr. Agarwal underscored the necessity of integrating physical activity into one's lifestyle to ensure sound health and fitness. She extended her commendation to Dr. Mahender Singh, Head of the Department, for spearheading this initiative.
The event aimed to pay homage to iconic sports figures and promote an active lifestyle among students and faculty members. The occasion witnessed a series of engaging activities that fostered a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The events catered to both students and faculty, offering a diverse range of challenges that encouraged participation and healthy competition.
