Dear Participants, thank you for making the tournament a success! In an effort to support your continued development, below are a few hydration and nutrition tips from Enerzal's expert in this area, Smruti Gokhale:
Quick Hydration tips:
· Start a match or training session well hydrated – if you are well hydrated, then your urine should be a pale yellow color.
· Keep a supply of water and hydration drinks with you during and between sessions.
· During exercise drink a few mouthfuls at every change of end and between sets in a match. Do the same every few minutes in practice so you get used to what you will do in a match.
· Drink after and between sessions even if you don’t feel thirsty.
· Monitor the color of your urine for signs of dehydration.
Nutrition tips:
- Breakfast is always the most important meal of the day
- Breakfast is vital to replenish all the nutrients, minerals, glycogen, fluids after whole night’s fasting
- it is important to include high carbohydrates in tennis players diet for breakfast
- The meal after breakfast can be consumed at smaller quantities but at more frequent intervals.
- Smaller but more frequent meals provide a constant supply of energy.
All the best!

Dear participants, we are excited to present a series of hydration and nutrition tips from Enerzal's expert in this area, Smruti Gokhale. In this 1st post, hydration is explained in more detail.
Hydration:
Hydration means- Maintaining optimum levels of water and electrolytes in the body.
Dehydration prevents your body and mind from working at its peak so if you fail to hydrate properly while playing tennis, it could cost you vital points leading to defeat.
Lack of recovery time during tournaments, hot weather, warm indoor courts and long intense matches all increase fluid losses and make it more difficult to keep hydrated.
All the best!

Dear Participants, we are excited to see the strong participation emerging in the tournament. Here are 3 tips to help you prepare for match day!
1. Familiarize yourself with the host club: for players who will be new to Lake club, if possible, try to visit a day or two before and familiarize yourself with the courts and the surroundings. Let your mind create a mental picture of the tournament environment and this will help you prepare.
2. Get used to the court surface: If possible, try to play on the courts to get a feel for the speed and bounce of the surface. This experience will allow you to try certain adjustments in your swings or shot placements and you will have a mental note created prior to your match.
3. Practice with the tournament balls: Ask the organizers what tennis balls will be used. Try to get a can or two of these balls and play with them to get used to them. Different brands feel different and you will be able to make adjustments as needed and be more prepared prior to your match.
I'm happy to answer questions and we look forward to your thoughts. All the best!
Harsh

Dear Tournament Participants, in the lead up to the tournament, I am excited to support you in your preparation. Below are 3 Tips:
1. Make sure your equipment is ready: I encourage tournament players to have 2 racquets of the same type with the same string. If your strings break during a match, you want to have another racquet ready in your bag that will feel the same in your hands so you can continue without any hiccup.
2. Tailor your practices: as you get closer to the tournament, I advice to spend some time in practice playing points, service games and sets to mimic match-type playing conditions.
3. Manage your training load: make sure not to over-train right before the tournament. Keep up with your regular practice routines and get good sleep to be well rested for the tournament days.
I encourage questions and thoughts and will be back with additional tips during the week.
All the best!
Harsh
