1-4-3-2-1 MID-BLOCK | TACTICAL PRINCIPLES ⚽️

Controlling the Middle. Denying Forward Passes. Winning the Ball.

Against a 1-4-3-3, our objective is to stay compact in the middle third and force the opponent into predictable areas.

🔹 No. 9 — First Press
Screens the opponent’s No. 6 and uses a curved run to press the full-back while blocking the inside passing lane.

🔹 No. 8 & No. 10 — Central Control
Stay narrow, protect the inside channels and deny access to the opponent’s midfielders.

🔹 No. 7 & No. 11 — Pressing Triggers
When the ball travels to the opponent’s full-back, initiate the press and force play towards the touchline.

🔹 No. 6 — Protection
Controls the space in front of the back four and prevents direct passes through the centre.

🔹 Back Four — Compactness
Move together, maintain distances and step forward when the ball travels backwards.

🔹 Body Shape & Awareness
Always be ready to see ball + opponent + space. Anticipate the next pass and attack the passing lane.

🧠 THE PRINCIPLE

PROTECT THE MIDDLE → FORCE WIDE → PRESS → COVER INSIDE → WIN THE BALL → PLAY FORWARD

Football is not only about chasing the ball.
It is about controlling space, controlling options and controlling the opponent.

Dreams are built on sacrifice, discipline and consistency. 🇮🇳⚽

A huge congratulations to Ashwin on an incredible achievement! From the U11 days to earning a place with Minerva Punjab and now proudly representing India at the Gothia Cup and MIC Cup, becoming a champion this journey is truly inspiring.

Ashwin has sacrificed so much at such a young age. Despite the heartbreaking loss of his mother last year, he never gave up on football. His discipline, relentless hard work, consistency and the way he demanded more from himself both on and off the field have made this moment possible.

A special appreciation to Coach Lokesh for identifying and nurturing Ashwin’s talent from childhood and creating a pathway that helped him reach Minerva Punjab. This is what true player development looks like. Wishing you many more success stories and future champions.

The journey doesn’t end here it has only begun.

Wishing you all the very best, Ashwin. May you continue to make India proud. 🇮🇳

Congratulations to Coach Lokesh Lokesh Benzee keep inspiring and producing more champions.

⚽ Tactical Concept | Mastering the Half-Space

The half-space is one of the most influential zones in modern football. It connects the central and wide areas, creating the perfect platform to attack while demanding intelligent defending.

In Possession (Offensive):
✅ Create passing angles
✅ Break defensive lines
✅ Combine in tight spaces
✅ Create chances and score goals

Out of Possession (Defensive):
🛡️ Protect the half-space
🛡️ Stay compact as a team
🛡️ Force play wide
🛡️ Win the ball and transition quickly

“Great teams don’t just attack the half-space—they dominate it in every phase of the game.”

⚽ PASSING & SUPPORT IN GRASSROOTS & YOUTH FOOTBALL ⚽

Passing and support are the foundation of team play. Young players must learn that football is not just about dribbling—it’s about creating solutions for teammates and moving the ball effectively.

🔹 Passing Key Points

✅ Scan before receiving the ball
✅ First touch prepares the next action
✅ Pass with the correct weight and accuracy
✅ Use the inside of the foot for better control
✅ Pass to the teammate’s front foot whenever possible
✅ Communicate before and after passing
✅ Play quickly when space and time are limited

🔹 Support Key Points

✅ Move immediately after passing
✅ Create passing angles for teammates
✅ Maintain proper distance from the ball carrier
✅ Stay available and visible at all times
✅ Provide multiple passing options
✅ Support from different angles (width, depth, and diagonal support)
✅ Think one action ahead

🔹 Coaching Focus for Grassroots Players (U6–U12)

🔹 Encourage constant movement after passing
🔹 Develop scanning habits before receiving
🔹 Promote decision-making rather than dribbling every time
🔹 Build confidence to receive under pressure
🔹 Teach players to help teammates by creating passing options

🔹 Coaching Focus for Youth Players (U13–U18)

🔹 Faster ball circulation and tempo
🔹 Playing through lines and breaking pressure
🔹 Third-man combinations and support runs
🔹 Position-specific support angles
🔹 Playing one-touch and two-touch football when appropriate
🔹 Understanding width, depth and compactness

🏆 Coaching Message
