Athleticism is the quality of having the strength (as well as other physical qualities) and energy that makes a great athlete.
An healthy and strong youth is what is to be built along with sport specific skills.
Body weight exercises offer a safe and effective variant in increasing the strength.
Functional Training for Kids:
Functional training involves exercises that simulate real-life body movements by working muscles together rather than in isolation. Multi joint movements rather than single joint movements
Functional exercise for kids serves as a precursor to resistance training in adulthood and helps them to develop overall body strength while creating awareness for exercise.
When the kid improves his awareness on handling his own bodyweight, added movements through the slight resistance training becomes more effective and may prevent injuries if when done with proper technique.
