With profound sadness, the Maharashtra Sepaktakraw Association (MSTA) mourns the passing of Haji Salim Baig Sir, Founder Member and the first Secretary General of the Sepaktakraw Federation of India. His tireless dedication, vision, and unmatched contribution to the sport will forever remain a guiding light for all of us.
In 1982, during the 9th Asian Games, Sepaktakraw was showcased as a demonstration sport before the then Honโble Prime Minister, late Smt. Indira Gandhi ji โ at Karnal Singh Railway Stadium on 23 Nov 1982 - a historic moment made possible through the relentless efforts of Haji Salim Baig ji. The Federation and the entire Sepaktakraw community can never forget his pioneering role in bringing the sport to India.
The Maharashtra Sepaktakraw Association is deeply pained by his loss.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and to the entire Sepaktakraw fraternity.

Honโble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis has expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of Shri Yogender Singh ji and Mr. Ankit Baliyan
In his condolence message issued on the official Government letterhead, Shri Fadnavis conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for strength to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our dear friend, Mr. Ankit Baliyan, former Sepaktakraw player and a dedicated member of the Sepaktakraw Federation of India, who also lost his life in the same unfortunate accident.
Ankit was a joyful soul โ always smiling, full of energy, and ever ready to help. During every national championship, he took care of even the smallest details with unmatched dedication and warmth. Constantly on the move, ensuring everything was perfect, he was the quiet force that kept everything running smoothly.
His cheerful presence, kindness, and commitment to the sport touched everyone who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt by the entire Sepaktakraw family.
Gone too soon, but forever alive in our hearts and memories. ๐

The Maharashtra Sepaktakraw Association (MSTA) is deeply saddened and heartbroken by the untimely demise of Shri Yogender Singh Dahiya Sir, President of the Sepaktakraw Federation of India and the Deputy President ASTAF (South Asia) who passed away in a tragic car accident in Goa.
His passing is an immense loss to the entire Sepaktakraw family. Shri Dahiya Sir was not just a leader - he was a pillar of strength, a guiding light, and a true well-wisher of every player and association working for the growth of the game.
He stood by us during our most difficult times, when the Maharashtra Sepaktakraw Association was struggling through a period of crisis. His unwavering support, motivation, and faith helped us rebuild and rise again. His gentle words, filled with warmth and encouragement, will forever echo in our hearts.
Under his inspiring leadership, India made its mark in the international Sepaktakraw arena โ achieving milestones that once seemed distant dreams. His dedication, vision, and love for the game will continue to inspire generations to come.
Today, we mourn not only the loss of a great leader but also of a mentor, friend, and guardian of the sport.

This is not just a loss - itโs an irreparable void in the heart of the entire Indian Sepaktakraw family. Shri Dahiya wasnโt just a leader; he was a pillar of strength, a guiding light, and a constant source of motivation for everyone around him.
He worked day and night for the betterment of the game and its players - always standing by them, fighting for them, believing in them. Strict when needed, yet as caring and protective as a mother - that was the kind of person he was.
