Our Objective and Commitment:
is to teach students JUDO in both form as a martial art and as a sport and inculcate them to groom both as a martial artist and a sportsman in a healthy way. Also, we give an opportunity to compete at the highest level with other leading members of Judo players at state, zonal and national level championships at Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior level age classifications.

Roche Judo Club started during the year 1993-1994 by Late Sensei Mr P. Elamparuthi (first San-dan (third degree) black belt judoka in TN and NIS coach) in Mandavelipakkam with a passion and aim to promote Judo both as Sport and as a martial art emphasizing on self-defense. Their complete dedication and patience started to reap benefits as Roche Judo club grown to become the prominent and leading clubs in Tamil Nadu and which now has a span for over 20 years and we have produced leading players at national and state level consistently and won many individual and overall championships over the years. Our club members are members of Judo association of TN State and Chennai. Operations
Our clubs operate from Mandaveli, Chennai as main office and we take classes four days a week throughout the year on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays from 18:00 to 21:00 hrs. We take classes for students across all age, genders and weight categories and have regular comprehensive training sessions for beginner’s level and Dan grades level. We have a very welcoming environment where new comers/ beginners and even experienced players from other locations were always welcomed to practice, teach and learn here. We emphasize on learning judo in a gentle way with discipline and way of life. Club members

What is Judo? JUDO is an ancient Martial art, combat and Olympic Sport with its roots from Japan in 1882 by Sensei Jigoro Kano. Judo’s prominent feature is in certain element which specializes and concentrates on grappling and throwing an opponent down in the mat with techniques of breaking off balance and also specializes in Chokes and Bone joint locks. Strikes and Thrusts by hands and feet as well as weapons defenses are part of JUDO. But, only in forms of prearranged forms of KATA and not allowed in Competitive Sport Judo. The word literally means “THE GENTLE WAY”. The founder of this art has emphasized in using of breaking the off-balance using techniques rather than raw power. Judo has been taught worldwide to all people irrespective of gender, age and weight and it has spread all around the world with its popularity. Judo is a parent art for certain famous martial arts such as Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Sambo. Judo Practitioners are called as Judoka. It has a distinction of being a universal martial art wherein only one form of syllabus and grading are followed in a uniform system all around the world. It helps students to practice in future with ease irrespective of their location. There are two types of Judo
1) As a Martial Art
2) As a Sport
As martial art,
Judo teaches students on how to defend and discipline themselves. It teaches how to respect elders and make them understand the value of discipline. It makes them aware of the environment and teaches them how to protect themselves and others
As sport,
Judo helps in students to participate in competition conducted by Judo Federation of India at Zonal, State and National level. Students fights on their respective weight on a knockout system of tournament. Benefits of JUDO for Students:

• Students can attend tournaments at school level in District and State level competitions
• Students will be getting Scholarships from Government of Tamil Nadu upon successfully achieving Medals

• JUDO Students upon successfully completion of 10+2 level of education are eligible for applying for Jobs in Services like TN Police, RPF and CRPF. Benefits of Judo:
