Job Description – Basketball Coach / Trainer
Sportism is a multi sport training organization that imparts training in an innovative fashion through fun based activity for kids from the age of 3+. We incorporate free play along with a structured curriculum to engage children and keep them motivated and enthusiastic.
We are looking for basketball coaches / trainers who can design and implement the program and adhere to the values of the organization. We also encourage our coaches to value add their ideas in training children.
Nature of Job:
Part time
Qualifications required :
Basic degree in sports or any equivalent degree with experience in basketball training.
Certification in Basketball Coaching
Fluency in English and Tamil a must.
Duties and responsibilities :
Coach will be committed to the personal development of each player on the roster. This includes teaching them maneuvers and plays relating to the position in which the player is assigned. Coach will help students develop a competitive nature, teach them about ethical behavior and good sportsmanship, and assist in the development of leadership skills.
Coach would be involved in meeting with players, parents and all the stake holders.
Coach will be deciding which player is assigned to a particular position and to create both offensive and defensive plays to be used in game situations. Coach will also oversee and decide on any changes to these plans during actual games.
Coach will also be fulfilling some administrative duties, with the main one being the creation of and adherence to a budget. Coach will determine costs of uniforms, equipment, transportation and other items and operate within a budget. Coach will be responsible for submitting fiscal reports showing team expenses and costs.
Preference of 1-5 years experience in sports training.
Ability to assess skills of children.
Mindset to engage, work and deliver the sports training to children .
Experience of having worked in a team .
Reporting through a structured process whether on site or off site.
Skill Set :
Core Skills
Designing game plans and assigning positions.
Preparing and conditioning athletes.
Understanding rules and regulations of Basketball Governing Agencies.
Creating an annual calendar for tournaments .
Assessing talent of players to be enrolled into a sports program.
Developing and evaluating a budget for all expenses.
Advanced Skills
Manage promotional efforts.
Understand aspects of health, exercise science and physical education.
Mentor student off- as well as on-field, encouraging leadership skills and academic success
Salary :
Will be in line with industry standards.
