TUFC vs Ginga FC

[November 17, 2019]

TUFC 2 - 5 Ginga FC

After a sizeable break, We finally got the permission to resumed our weekly games as usual, Ginga FC were the lucky team to win a chance to play at our beautiful MCC pitch. The game was expected to be a closer affair and was in most areas of play except for finishing. GFC pulled far ahead with clinical conversion of their chances and the result was a clear indication of that.

We struggled to find our usual rhythm in the first half and this was clearly visible when Ginga FC took an early lead by capitalising on a loose pass from midfield to break into a quick counter attack. And that was just the start. They constantly lashed us with long balls along the wing from midfield. One those attacks resulted in a corner which lead to the second goal for GFC after we failed to clear our lines. We had our chances simply failed to finish them. We did score a goal however in the first half with a well taken corner. It looked like we finally got back into the game and we hoped to finish the half strong, but it was the away side that got yet another goal that seemed to kill our momentum.

After a miserable first half, We hoped to start the second much stronger. And it almost looked so with a bunch of good chances in front of goal, however it was GFC that got the goal. Another mixup in defence left our opponents with 4 players in front of an empty net as they easily extended their lead. Deep into the second half GFC scored their fifth. An outrageous chip from just outside the box that dipped right below the crossbar. We got a consolation goal with only a few minutes remaining through a cross that was headed in at the far post.

As usual it was an amazing, as it has always been, to play here at MCC. We are eager for a rematch with Ginga FC, but it will most likely have to wait for another weekend. We will keep you posted as to who we’ll be playing next week. Until then !

MATCH REVIEW

TUFC 3 - 5 Amazon

After more than a month, TUFC finally restarted the Sunday routine by hosting Amazon's football team. The game started off with Amazon taking charge by holding possession with TUFC hardly able to hold possession. Amazon took charge of the game with a quick fire of two goals to assert themselves strongly in the game. A few moments later, after coming close on a few occasions, TUFC slowly built up a move of their own to reduce the deficit. Following which they found their equaliser through a well worked set piece. But it was Amazon who managed to finish the first half on the front foot as they scored a third after their winger managed to pull off a run along the line to set up a man in the middle.
The second half started with TUFC constantly pressing for another equaliser. But Amazon managed to add yet another goal as they scored from the counter. But the two goal cushion didn't last long as TUFC scrambled in a goal following a mix up between a TUFC midfielder and the Amazon goalie. Although it was a debatable incident the goal stood. Amazon then added a little gloss to the scoreline by scoring from a cross towards the end of the game to round of a good attacking performance from their side.

MATCH WEEK 14: REVIEW

TUFC 4 - 2 ACCENTURE

As the skies cleared up in the evening, TUFC and Accenture looked ready to play some exciting Sunday football. Accenture took an early lead through an error from TUFC's defence in their very first attack. Turf looked determined to shake it off by pulling a few decent moves. But it was Accenture that found the second goal of the game. TUFC didn't give up still. With a few intricate passes from defence to attack, the home side managed to create space on the flanks to produce a cross which ended with the striker scoring on the rebound after the Accenture keeper managed to block the initial effort. TUFC then drew level soon after with a nice link up play as the first half ended 2-2. Not too long into the second half and Accenture had conceded yet another goal after seeing their corner on the other end defended which let to a TUFC counter attack. Three substitute striker managed marshal his way to the goal after carrying the ball from the half line. Game saw a long spell with both sides attacking. But it TUFC that managed to put the game to rest with the fourth goal the halls to yet another nice link-up play through the center.
