We extend a warm invitation to all JKA karate enthusiasts in West Bengal to witness the largest and most prestigious 'Shobu Ippon' karate event of the year - The 2nd All Bengal JKA Karate Championship 2025. This Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, the Sabuj Sathi Krirangan Howrah Indoor Stadium will host over 550 talented JKA practitioners competing in various categories to showcase their skills and expertise.
The championship will follow the traditional 'Shobu Ippon' format, a style of karate competition pioneered by the JKA in Japan over 70 years ago. In this format, a single decisive point, or 'ippon,' secures victory, emphasizing the importance of precision, power, and technique. We look forward to an exciting display of martial arts excellence!
This event is organised by the JKAWF INDIA WB and supported by the JKA Howrah.

JKA Kyu Rank Promotion Test Report of the Hooghly Traditional Shotokan Karate Institute (HTSKI), Member of the JKAWF INDIA
Date: 20th July 2025
Location: Chinsurah, Hooghly
Conducted by: Manoj Saha Sensei
The JKA Kyu Rank Promotion Test was successfully held on 20th July 2025 at Chinsurah Smriti Mandir for the members of the HTSKI branches (Members of JKAWF INDIA). The test was conducted by Manoj Saha Sensei, who evaluated the technical skills of the examinees from White Belt to 1st Kyu Brown Belt.
The test results showed a significant improvement in the technical standard of the examinees, with many demonstrating a high level of proficiency in their respective ranks. In fact, the overall standard was probably the best since the inception of the HTSKI. However, it was noted that examinees approaching the rank of JKA Black Belt (1st, 2nd and 3rd Kyu) require serious training and improvement to meet the high standards expected of them.
Overall, the JKA Kyu Rank Promotion Test was a success, and the HTSKI branches are proud of the progress made by their members. With continued hard work and dedication, the students are expected to make further improvements and strive for excellence in their karate journey.
Here are a few images that were captured during the day.
