The black granules filled in the astroturf courts are a severe health hazard. The rubber are wornout tires which consists of multiple chemicals which can be highly toxic and can even cause cancer. In USA and Europe researches are going on to see effects of this crumb rubber and possibly replace all the astroturf. Pls google and see to know more.

As Coimbatore is getting more and more astroturf facilities. We at Krida Arena have taken this initiative even before we started our ground construction 2 years ago by basic research. Requesting all other astroturf courts to look into this issue and replace the crumb rubber as this is a major health hazard.
