From Odisha to the Asian Games. 🇮🇳

Swasti Singh’s journey to Nagoya 2026 is not just about the finish line. It is about the road back.

On 11 May 2026, during the Madison event at the UCI Grand Prix Namangan Track Race, Swasti suffered a crash that resulted in a shoulder dislocation and fracture. The injury kept her away from the bike for nearly six weeks and began an intensive rehabilitation journey filled with demanding recovery sessions.

But the comeback was stronger than the setback.

Through discipline, resilience, rehabilitation and relentless determination, Swasti returned to training and fought her way back to competition.

Now, she stands ready to represent India at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, competing in Women’s Madison and Women’s Team Pursuit.

The 2nd State Senior, Junior, Sub-Junior & Youth MTB Cycling Championship 2026 and Asmita Women’s MTB Cycling League State Level are coming to Mahendragiri, Gajapati, Odisha from 4–6 September 2026.

Cycling Development & Championship Preparations 🚴‍♂️

The Odisha Cycling Association team, led by President Smt. Minati Mohapatra, Arjuna Awardee, along with Secretary Shri Prasanna Kumar Rout, Vice President Shri N.C. Sahoo, Joint Secretary Shri Gopinath Panda, and members Shri Pradeep Das, Shri R.K. Srinivas, Shri Biswa Ranjan Sahoo and Shri Pramod Kumar, visited Rourkela for a recce and to oversee preparations for the upcoming 43rd State Road Cycling Championships and Asmita Women’s Road State Cycling League.

During the visit, the office bearers and members also met the General Manager (Sports), Rourkela Steel Plant, and visited various locations across Sundargarh district to assess and discuss upcoming cycling development projects in the state.

A productive visit focused on strengthening cycling infrastructure, supporting competitive cycling and creating greater opportunities for cyclists across Odisha. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

The future of Indian cycling begins with collaboration. 🇮🇳🚴‍♀️

Odisha Cycling Association President Smt. Minati Mahapatra (Arjuna Awardee) and General Secretary Shri Prasanna Kumar Rout represented Odisha at the Annual General Meeting of the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) held in New Delhi on 3–4 August 2026.

The AGM brought together cycling leaders from across the country to discuss the roadmap for the growth of cycling in India, athlete development, national championships, and the future of the sport.

A key highlight for Odisha was the discussion on the 23rd National MTB Cycling Championship 2026, which will be hosted at the breathtaking Mahendragiri Hills, Odisha, from 1–4 October 2026. The championship is set to welcome the nation’s finest mountain bikers to one of India’s most scenic racing destinations.

Odisha remains committed to developing cycling infrastructure, hosting world-class events, and creating greater opportunities for cyclists to excel at the national and international level.

For the very first time, Odisha will host the 23rd National MTB Cycling Championship, bringing India’s finest mountain bikers to the breathtaking trails of Mahendragiri.

This isn’t just another championship.

It’s a historic milestone.

🏆 2024 – 29th National Road Cycling Championship, Puri
🏆 2025 – 30th National Road Cycling Championship, Sambalpur
🏆 2026 – 23rd National MTB Cycling Championship, Mahendragiri

🚴‍♀️ ODISHA CYCLING ASSOCIATION COUNCIL BODY & COMMITTEE MEMBERS’ MEETING 🚴‍♂️

The Odisha Cycling Association Council Body and All Committee Members’ Meeting was held at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, on 24th June 2026, bringing together the leadership and members to discuss the roadmap for the growth and development of cycling in Odisha.

The meeting was chaired by President Smt. Minati Mohapatra, Arjuna Awardee, in the presence of General Secretary Shri Prasanna Kumar Rout, Vice President Shri Nrusingha Ch. Sahoo, and other esteemed members of the Association.

📌 Key decisions and discussions included:

1️⃣ Conduct of the Asmita Khelo India Women’s State Cycling Championships in Road & MTB disciplines.
2️⃣ Discussion on the dates and venues for the upcoming State Road, Track & MTB Championships.
3️⃣ Planning and preparation for Odisha Cycling Teams’ participation in the CFI National Championships in Road, Track & MTB disciplines.

A proud moment for Odisha Cycling Association. 🇮🇳🚴‍♀️

We are deeply honoured to receive this Letter of Appreciation from the Cycling Federation of India, following the recognition extended by the President of the UCI for the successful organisation of the Asmita Women’s League and the celebration of World Bicycle Day.

This recognition belongs to every volunteer, official, cyclist, coach, supporter, and the District Administration who stood with us and made these events a grand success.

We sincerely thank the Cycling Federation of India for this encouragement. It inspires us to continue working towards the growth of cycling in Odisha and creating more opportunities for athletes, especially women and young cyclists.
