Attempting Scorpion be like! 🀣🀣

This was my 3rd attempt at Scorpion and now I can lift my head. However, for now, as soon as I lift my head, I fall. πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ€£

Probably I need more focus and more strength to get there. And of course a lot of practice. 😊😊

Progress Update - Those who have been following my updates would know that I have been working on Backbending and trying to get into a Full Camel Pose. Just a few days ago, I was no where close to the ground and today I was able to place my palms and also my head on the ground.
This is what you call the magic of practice. You grow in every sense. 😊

I guess it won’t take long to get into Full Camel Pose.

I think there’s nothing I love more than inversions. They help me understand my sense of balance, emotions & energies better.

Focusing on breathing when attempting the inversions and trying to relax it down is the key to improve your mental & emotional state, and also to make the inversions meditative.

The first picture is from 2 years ago, when I was just desperate to get into headstand. As can be seen clearly, my posture is as incorrect as it can be. Head is not placed right, shoulders aren’t relaxed, cord and elbows aren’t engaged, and the weight of entire lower body is on the wall. And the highlight is, I had no clue I am doing it wrong. I wasn’t taking classes at that time and was not practising under the eye of a teacher. After practicing it for some time, when I wasn’t able to do a proper headstand, I subconsciously dropped it.

Second picture is from today. This could accomplished after I learnt the proper technique of getting into headstand (and also of falling down) from the best teachers at Sivananda ashram, and also with continuous daily practice.

As of today, I am able to hold headstand for around 5 minutes, and can also try some variations. Just trying to up the game with regular practice. 😊
