Dear Dance Community, a few thoughts that will hopefully both progress some necessary conversation amongst us, and pay respects to where respect is due. Ongoing talks are continuously happening both internally and all around us, and the goal is to find solidarity to our roots and create inclusivity for everybody in all expressions. Like all good things, it takes time to really uncover the truths for this culture that we all love… and if there’s anything to add to this statement… is to yes, absolutely continue to educate ourselves in properly learning the history of all dances, but to also never stop exploring, discovering, and moving with a boundless nature of limitless wonder in how we can express ourselves.
