UST-Cricket Welcome to UST cricket, trusted manufacturers of English & Kashmir Willow Bats since 1948

04/09/2026

That six you just watched? 🏏 It started as a raw piece of willow.

Before a cricket bat reaches the crease, it goes through a journey of careful willow selection, grain inspection, pressing, shaping, balancing, and finishing. Every decision along the way plays a role in creating the bat a player eventually trusts in the middle.

The next time you pick up a bat, don't just look at the sticker.

Look at the willow.

Because every bat has a story.

Are you choosing your cricket bat the right way? 🏏

Most players focus on the grains and simply hit a few balls in the centre to test a bat.

But one of the most important factors is often overlooked: pickup and balance.

Every player has a different game. An opener, for example, needs a bat that helps with swing, control and playing the new ball.

The right bat isn’t just about how it looks. It's about how it feels in your hands.

What do you check first when choosing a cricket bat? 👇

The bat looks ready… but wait.

There’s still one important step before this willow is ready to face its first ball.

Every great bat has a journey before it reaches the crease.

A visit that goes beyond the surface.

We had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Jeremy Ruggles from J.S. Wright & Sons at the UST factory—where conversations around willow, craftsmanship, and quality come to life.

From raw clefts to finished bats, this exchange of knowledge ensures that what reaches the player is not just a product—but something built on authenticity and understanding.

Because great bats don’t just come from wood…
they come from the right willow, in the right hands.

Most “English Willow” bats in the market aren’t what they claim to be.

And that’s the truth.

There’s nothing wrong with Kashmir Willow—but calling it English Willow? That’s where the problem starts.

At UST, we source directly from J.S. Wright & Sons to ensure complete authenticity—no confusion, no compromises.

Don’t buy the sticker.
Understand the wood.
