"He made everyone a superstar"
You may call it his passion or dedication to be present in every game at any time of the year. But for the young lads playing in Japanese park, he (Mr. Sanjay G. Nair) surely was the lens through which the world could see them playing.
Now recalling, we (our team) remember when he first approached us while we were playing in the evening. Surely, it was a long time back but, those memories are still fresh like an old 'photograph' kept somewhere safely. From that time onwards we were in touch with him, captured in his lens as we grew up playing football. Sharing the moments of joy, the moments of despair and again bouncing back to be victorious. He continued to be the part of our journey.
Apart from being a fabulous photographer, he is an amazing mentor, a well-wisher, and a magnificent human being. We are grateful that Mr. Sanjay G. Nair gave us so many good memories to cherish upon.
Surely, he would be missed by us, and by all the boys who were habitual of his company. But we wish him for a delightful journey ahead in Kerala, for a new chapter in his life. All the best DADA, hope to see you again.

Match Report :

All apologies for not publishing the previous two match reports. We will make up for that soon.

So it was 'the' semi final and we were facing Phoenix F.C. .. again. The match started with a tense situation as the opposition looked forward to take an early lead. Commanding back-line of Deepak, Himanshu and Gaurav soon proved to be overwhelming for the opposition.

The opposition pressed up high but were stopped in their tracks by good teamwork in the back. With Lalit guarding the goal line brilliantly.

Both teams were cresting chances one after the other. Amit's clever freekick was cleared from the line by good defending from the Phoenix guys. However, it was Abhinav who found the net with some nice footwork and balance. Luring the keeper out of his line then calmly slotting the ball in the net for his first goal of the tournament.

The tides turned with Wanderers seeing more of the ball now in all areas. Some slick passing between Umang, Dinesh and Abhishek opened up the defence and Dinesh was able to find the net after his shot bounced off the keeper. Dinesh took his goal tally to 3, the same as Abhishek.

Second half resumed and total domination followed as Abhinav just couldn't connect on a brilliant delivery by Abhishek from the left wing.
Substitutes, Ankit(in for Dinesh) and Jignesh(in for deepak) played sturdy roles in breaking opposition's attack. The opposition put everything forward but couldn't breakthrough.
However they managed a consolation in the dying minutes of the match, with a fine finish.
The match ended with the scoreline 2-1 which meant The Wanderers F.C. beat Phoenix F.C. to reach the finals.

A Team in spirit.
