পশ্চিম বর্ধমান জেলার তথা দুর্গাপুরের বামুনাড়া এলাকার খুদে কারাটে প্রতিভা নৈঋত্য আচার্য ২৮তম পশ্চিমবঙ্গ স্টেট কারাটে চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ–২০২৬-এ অসাধারণ সাফল্য অর্জন করেছে। ৮ বছর বয়সী বালক বিভাগের কুমিতে (-৩০ কেজি) ইভেন্টে স্বর্ণপদক জিতে স্টেট চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করেছে সে।
গত ২৭ ও ২৮ জুন কলকাতার খুদিরাম অনুশীলন কেন্দ্রে অনুষ্ঠিত এই রাজ্যস্তরের প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করে Karate-Do Association of Bengal (KAB)। সংস্থাটি Bengal Olympic Association-এর স্বীকৃত এবং Karate India Organisation (KIO)-এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত। KIO আবার World Karate Federation (WKF)-এর অধিভুক্ত, যা International Olympic Committee (IOC)-এর স্বীকৃত আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা।
নৈঋত্য আচার্য এই প্রতিযোগিতায় পশ্চিম বর্ধমান জেলার প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে দুর্দান্ত লড়াইয়ের মাধ্যমে স্বর্ণপদক জয় করে জেলার পাশাপাশি দুর্গাপুরেরও মুখ উজ্জ্বল করেছে।
তার এই সাফল্যের পেছনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেছেন তার প্রশিক্ষক সেন্সেই অর্ঘ্যজিৎ রায় (৩য় ড্যান)। তিনি একজন ন্যাশনাল জাজ ও কোচ এবং পশ্চিম বর্ধমান স্পোর্টস কারাটে-ডো অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সাধারণ সম্পাদক। নৈঋত্য বর্তমানে তাঁর তত্ত্বাবধানে রিউকেন সেইশিনকাই কারাটে ডোজো-তে নিয়মিত প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহণ করছে।
নৈঋত্যর এই সাফল্যে পরিবার, প্রশিক্ষক, কারাটে অ্যাকাডেমির সদস্য এবং জেলার ক্রীড়াপ্রেমীদের মধ্যে আনন্দের আবহ তৈরি হয়েছে। ভবিষ্যতে জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরেও সে আরও বড় সাফল্য অর্জন করবে—এমনই আশা প্রকাশ করেছেন তার কোচ ও শুভানুধ্যায়ীরা।
