A day spent at the SGMI Rock area in Gangtok... exploring rocks and climbing some with bros &

Chakung stands at a vantage point above Jorethang town and offers extraordinary panoramic view of the distant hills and mountains. Surrounded by pine forest on one side and an unparalleled view of the mighty Kangchenjunga on the other, Chakung has much to offer in terms of natural beauty. The area is largely unexplored by tourists and is truly one of Sikkim’s best kept secrets.



Numerous winding paths through beautiful forests, hill ridges and little hamlets make up for great mountain biking trails. Here we have Wang , a friend and mtb enthusiast, riding through parts of the pine XC trail… that we along with local riders are developing in Chakung.

A Sokpa was spotted somewhere in the Himalayas

Asim Sharma , a 19 year old from Chakung is currently placed 5th in the national ranking by the Cycling Federation of India. He is passionate about the sport… constantly training for the next race and working towards popularising MTB in the region. Sokpa and Asim are in the process of developing new MTB trails in Chakung and beyond.
