A Historic First for Sikkim Shooting Sports
Laxuman Adhikari, a registered shooter of the Sikkim Rifle Association and an athlete of the Sikkim Rifle & Pistol Academy, has created history by winning the first-ever Bronze Medal for Sikkim at the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2026, held in Assam from 25th–30th August 2026.
This achievement comes within just one year of the Sikkim Rifle Association’s registration and affiliation with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
From starting almost from scratch to winning a historic medal in an Olympic sport, this is only the beginning. The journey has just started, and the impact is already being felt.
I will leave no stone unturned to take Sikkim to the No. 1 position in shooting sports one day.

A Proud Moment for Sikkim
Two young shooters, Anu Chhetri – 10m Air Pistol and Tshering Yangden Bhutia – 10m Air Rifle, have been selected to represent Sikkim at the 69th National Shooting Championship 2026.
Within just one year, Sikkim has reached the national level in shooting. This is not just a sporting achievement—it is real human empowerment: giving our youth purpose, confidence, discipline, and the opportunity to dream big.
As President of the Sikkim Rifle Association and Founder of Shooting Sports in Sikkim, this moment is deeply emotional and motivates me to work even harder for our athletes.
To all parents: give your children a chance.
Shooting is an Olympic sport with a great future. Let us build champions and, more importantly, build a stronger and empowered generation.
The journey has just begun.

The President of the Sikkim Rifle Association had a fruitful and insightful interaction with Shri Pawan Kumar Singh, Secretary General, National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
The meeting focused on the growth, development and future prospects of shooting sports in Sikkim, with valuable discussions on strengthening the sport at the grassroots and competitive levels.
Shri Pawan Kumar Singh appreciated the dedicated efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Sikkim Rifle Association towards promoting and developing shooting sports in the state.
As a gesture of respect and gratitude, the President of Sikkim Rifle Association presented a token of love and offered Khadas to Shri Pawan Kumar Singh.
The Sikkim Rifle Association remains committed to working together with the NRAI for the continued growth of shooting sports and creating greater opportunities for the athletes of Sikkim.

A Proud Moment for Sikkim 🎯❤️
Today, the Sikkim Rifle Association, led by President Sanjay Budathoki, along with our athletes, coaches and manager, had the privilege of meeting Shri MeghaNidhi Dahal, IAS, Finance Secretary, Government of Assam and a proud son of Sikkim.
It was more than just a meeting—it was an inspiring conversation filled with warmth, encouragement and valuable guidance for our young athletes.
Seeing a son of Sikkim serving the nation at such a distinguished level and taking the time to encourage our athletes was truly meaningful.
